Excellent for Testing EE Coverage Before Switching Networks
The EE Pay As You Go SIM Card was exactly what we needed. We bought it to test the EE network coverage before committing to switching providers, and it proved to be a worthwhile purchase. My son has recently moved and now works in a very rural area where his existing mobile network provides a poor signal. Rather than switching networks and hoping for the best, we decided to try this PAYG SIM first to see how EE performed in the areas where he lives and works. The results were clear. EE provided a much stronger and more reliable signal than his current network, giving us the confidence that switching to EE would be the right decision. It was a simple and inexpensive way to test real-world coverage before committing to a new contract or provider. The SIM activated without any problems and did exactly what we bought it for. Pros: Ideal for testing network coverage before switching Easy to activate and use Provided a noticeably stronger signal in our test area Low-cost way to compare mobile networks Great for rural coverage testing Gave us confidence before changing providers Cons: Coverage will vary depending on your location Initial setup is required before testing Performance may differ indoors and outdoors Overall This PAYG SIM card served its purpose perfectly. It allowed us to compare network coverage in a rural area before making the switch, and thanks to this simple test, we now know that EE offers much better coverage where my son lives and works. If you're considering changing networks, buying a PAYG SIM first is an excellent way to make an informed decision.

Very poor customer care from Speak easy telecom
The process of activating the sim was really stressful. Firstly the QR code does not scan, so ok type in web address. Get to website, you have to register. I put in my 11 digit current mobile number and it would not accept it. Message says no more than 11 digits. There were 11 digits and it is my number! Also, what if I didn’t already have a mobile? I am after all, buying a sim. I came out of the app and started again. This time it took my number. Then it needs my full Amazon order number! Which I didn’t have to hand. Why not tell me on the sim pack that I will need this before I start?! So I Start again. Third time lucky? It registered me and then gave a message that there is a 2-4 hour wait and that I will get an activation email. I am not clear if that email will mean I can use the phone or whether there are more hoops to jump through!! I only bought an additional handset and sim because from Amazon because I am going off grid camping and wanted a back up talk and text phone with a long battery standby time. It’s a good job I started the process a few days before I need to use the phone! This sim pack is a NIGHTMARE! I am an existing EE customer and this is an EE sim pack, who areSPEAKEASYTELECOM.com and why do I have to register with them? It has taken over an hour, a lot of stress and my sim is still not activated! If I had realised it was this difficult I would have never bothered buying the new handset and sim!!

Quick activation but said it needed to top up to use minutes
Arrived quickly. We got 3 of these to use our US phones in the UK (Verizon charges $10/day). Activation was easy per instructions and was quick. The only snag was that with the plan we got (8G) the minutes can't be used without topping up the account. At least that's what the message seemed to say when I tried to place a phone call. So can use data and text but that is it. Edit: As it turns out to use my US phone with this UK SIM, I had to dial numbers with the international prefix and UK country code (011 44) just like I was calling from the US. So I was able to use the minutes.

Happy with purchase
Happy with purchase, works well. Good that you don't have to cancel. You can top up if you want, but if you dont', the credit will just expire after a month. A couple of things to note (which are all mentioned on the selling page but worth mentioning again to ensure customers know). EE Pay as you go now includes 5G, but data is capped at 30Mbps.

No issues with the SIM but confusing QR requesting registration.
If you’re looking for an EE sim maybe buy directly from them. I purchased this as needed something quick. These sims claim to be prepaid with £10 but to activate this there’s a QR code sticker through to a third party company. I didn’t scan this as I didn’t recognise the site (it wasn’t EE and I didn’t fancy giving my info to a site I didn’t recognise). Purchased as it came up as an ‘Amazon’s choice’ product but the sticker with the QR to an unknown company didn’t sit right. I’m not saying it’s dodgy as I didn’t go ahead and scan. I went straight onto EE site and registered the SIM directly and decided to buy my data directly which has did cost me extra. Be vigilant
