FluvalEdge Pre Filter Sponge, Packaging May Vary

Good quality pre filter sponge and holes are small enough to allow water to pass through but not big enough to allow detritus to pass through. 10/10 functionality.

I'm just starting my aquarium journey and currently gathering all the necessary parts and accessories. After researching, I found that the Fluval Edge Pre Filter Sponge is highly recommended to complement the primary filter. It helps reduce the load on the main filter by catching larger debris and preventing small fish or shrimp from being sucked in.I've installed it temporarily, and everything looks perfect so far. This fits perfectly over the inlet on my SuperFish HOB filter to stop any of my tiny fishes from being sucked in and coming to an early demise.Traps the larger debris and is easy to slip off and rinse out when it needs a clean.

Bought to go over the filter outlet on my Fluval Flex. It fits well and tames the water movement to a much lower level for my poor betta, while still letting the tank circulate.I'm not sure if this has affected how well the filter works in the tank, but I do regular water changes anyway so I'm not too worried.

Ideal for covering my filter intake pipe so no shrimp get sucked up

This sponge is about 7=8cm long and does not fit snug on a fluval edge hang on filter as described. But a none branded multipack for cheaper would probably fit better.

We have a 5 foot tank and a lot of small fish and so we have to change the filter every few days
