This is an amusing and colourful book with lots of holes for little fingers to poke through! Quite different from the other books I'm familiar with for this age group. Educational as it covers many common words around the home. A lovely simple story that's fun for little ones and actually made me laugh out loud on first reading!

A simple but amusing book, with plenty of stimulating pictures and holes for little fingers to investigate and good fast paced text with plenty of rhymes to help prep little mind for understanding words and sound - I teach so appreciate the importance! On an adult level, it's enjoyable too, which is good for repeat reading!

Really sweet book for little ones, it was a favourite for my 3 kids and I now buy it for gifts to others. Paperback copy is nice as you can stick your fingers in the pecks (holes), but obviously more prone to tearing over the broad book. The broad book version has smaller holes - still an enjoyable read, highly recommend. The story is of a little bird and Daddy, a change for some from the mummy-centric reads.

We brought this after reading busy bird which my son loved. This is now my 5 month olds favourite book, we love it. I tap the book every time I say peck on the items the bird pecks and my son loves it. We have read it almost everyday since he was 3.5 months and I’m sure this will be a firm favourite for a long time. Great book to introduce new words and a free easy way to bring the book to life with the pecking gesture.

My 2 year old loves this book and knows all the different items off by heart now, and loves poking her fingers through the holes. Really enjoy reading it with her
