Absolutely brilliant! I have ME/CFS and I am very weak with little strength in my hands and I get exhausted very quickly.. I assembled the cleaner on a table. Very easy and straight forward to do. The actually cleaning box is much smaller than my ancient second hand Bissell cleaner which still works very well (and better than a vac too) and is very light even with the handle attached. It cleans like a dream, much much better than my vac. I alternated one hand to another to distribute the strain on my hand, wrist and arm that one experiences with repetitive actions and it was SO easy and light to push. I cleaned my two bed bungalow within about 10 mins! I could never do that with my vac. It did not tire me out at all. It picked up EVERYTHING. No bending to pick up bits like I do with my vac. This cleaner will replace my vac for regular use. It slides under chairs easily. Because it is so light there is no exertion or strain in lifting the cleaner to empty, which is straight forward and easy. Even my smaller 'light' vac can be quite tiring to empty and fiddly too and it never picks up stuff very well. This is fantastic value for money and a great cleaner. It is a joy to use. Also there is no noise which is a bonus too. You don't have to worry about disturbing the neighbours. All of my carpets are over 18 years old. Not thick pile which is only fair to mention. This light cleaner now enables me to sweep my carpets more regularly which can only be a good thing and it cheers my spirits not seeling 'loads of bits' on the carpet which the vac has not picked up and which I am unable to pick up due to exhaustion. 10/10 Bissell

Perfect sweeper for low pile carpeted areas. My grandmother had one of these in the 1960s. It's designed and construction hasn't changed. Why change to what works! It's literally bristles on a roller ... that catch up the dust/hairs/crumbs on the carpet, and brushes it off on the lips of the collector traps, ready for you to empty it into your bin. Love it.

Last year (2024) I had a beige/light brown carpet fitted in my living room/hallway, with which, I am very pleased. Unfortunately, it tends to show the "bits" that gather, via daily usage, quite quickly and easily. So, to avoid having to lug out my faithful Henry Hoover, 3/4 times a week, I was thinking of getting a smaller, hand held, or mini handled upright vacuum cleaner. But someone suggested it would just be as effective for the job to purchase a "carpet sweeper." Having grown up in the 60#s, I was aware of a number of people who used to use them regularly. So, having done some research, the Bissell Sturdy Sweep, kept popping up and (generally) achieving positive views. Therefore, I decided to take the plunge and buy one. As others have stated, it was a bit of a faff/fuss to put the handles together (especially with my shaky hands!) and I was worried about "cross threading," the separate parts. However, I eventually managed it and the resulting handle seems to be very tightly fitted and reliably sturdy. I immediately set to having a go on my "bitty" carpet and was very impressed with the results. It easily picked up all of the "bits" and left my carpet looking as pristine as if I'd used the hoover on it. The unit is small and compact, but seems to be perfect for its intended use. I've yet to try it on the lino, in the kitchen, where occasional spills of sugar/coffee etc, I suspect will be more of a problem, but I'll not find that out until there's some sort of "spillage" and I'm not going to create one, just to test my theory! 😉😉 Quite a few reviewers have commented that, in their experience, the unit is flimsy and the handle even more so, but that's not been my experience. All, in all, I'd say that it's early days, but so far, I'm impressed. As things stand. I would recommend the Sturdy Sweep and at £20 it's much cheaper than electric options and without the added inconvenience of having to plug it in, or charge it!

Bought a replacement after 5 happy years of using one of these, but the plastic hand grip on new one doesn't screw onto the bar, its too wide and comes off when sweeping! (Made in China). Its a good job I've been able to to fit and use the bar handle from my old one as its otherwise a nifty little sweeper and I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of sending it back.

It arrived promptly and was just as described. The box was very small but I put it together with no trouble. It works very well and light. My 87 year old mum wants one. It picked up dog hairs and large bits on both carpets and hard floors so now I only need to vacuum once a week instead of daily. Getting my mum one for her birthday.

Not had a carpet sweeper for year. But very happy with this product for a quick clean around It is light weight but well made . would recommend

I bought this for daily swiping getting my dysons quite heavy and I thought it would save me lugging it around daily, preferring to use it once a week. I was shocked when I opened this its so tiny about 8" square! Memories of time gone by and the ewbanks - nothing like those were! That will teach me to really read the descriptors at the bottom of the listing. It arrived on time in its own product box which is of good quality. The unit itself is a good quality dense plastic with a fabulous handle that is easily screwed together and pivots wonderfully as needed. However, I have laminate floors and at first i thought this doesn't pick up I am not sure why but after I opened the flaps underneath (you press the two indents on the silver bit) it works like a dream on both the rug and the laminate floors and will adequately fulfil my purpose for buying.
