Fast delivery, Fast set up, Couple Tips.
Filter pump arrived promptly. Included a few photos of product in box, out of box, in position and then 1 pic of pump switched on.This is my first experience with a large paddling pool. I got the pump for the 4.5m long rectangle Intex frame pool (also purchased on Amazon). Pump was simple to set up and instructions were clear and concise.Note: You need to vent the pump before using it (no power required). It took me a little minute to understand that section so thought I would explain it here. All it is, once the pump is in sitchu & you’re filling the pool, when the pool gets to the height of the first hose outlet (or there about), you will start to see water flowing out of the top of the pump. You need to ensure the top valve (the smaller screw thing on top) is loosened prior to this, it says on the instructions that the pump comes with this undone but mine had to be unscrewed. When you see the water flowing out of the top, you can then screw the valve back down (not too tightly). Luckily for me I heard when the water was flowing out as I left my door open when filling the pool. If you’re not going to be able to hear when this happens then just be sure to periodically check on the pool water level and pump. When the pump is switched on it is very quiet. The electrical lead isn’t the longest, I’ve currently got it plugged directly into the closest mains socket but this means I have to leave the door open when operating the pump. I might look at getting a heavy duty extension lead but wouldn’t use an ordinary extension lead for it based off prior reviews. So far all is good and no problems but only had it up for a day so a little too early to tell. I did also buy a pack of 6 filter cartridges, and I believe from researching online you can also clean down the filter cartridge to prolong its life.Hope this review was helpful.

This is a great filter pump
Warning.. long but essential review please read the full reviewWell where do I start..... read all the revues by previous purchasers......oh dear some people haven't got a clue!Let's start with the lady who clearly has the pump on the worktop bone dry not connected running it with no water claiming "how can they sell something so noisy" !! No no no no! She has probably ruined the filter pump herself, never run any pump dry always fill with water and prime it before switching it on . THIS PUMP IS VERY QUIET , FACT !A lot of reviews say it gets through filters and costs a fortune keep replacing them . No no no no ! What are they trying to clean , a swamp ! It is to keep pool water clear , if you have cloudy water it will fix it , as regards filters , each day take it out, and use a hose with a good flat spray jet and jet off each vane of the filter then do the same from inside, you then have a pristine clean filter . What do you expect if you let it get green and gunky, it ain't gonna work. IT DOESN'T EAT FILTERS IF YOU CLEAN THEM REGULARLY!Reviews say it is noisy when running , No No No No ! This pump is more powerful than my hot tub circulation pump and is considerably quieter when running, that is if you bleed the air out of it correctly, and make sure you have the hoses fitted correctly , once it's bled correctly then unless you have a leak on a hose it will not require further bleeding. The noise you hear if not bled is cavitation in the water by air bubbles , bleed it correctly and it will be silent all but a feint purr, I have to feel mine to see if its running. IT DOES NOT NEED TO KEEP BEING BLED !One final thing and I find annoying (and it's only me ) you can't use this pump with water temperature above 35° C (no mention in any amazon adverts or even the manual, a sticker on the pump is the first you know about this) it has a thermal trip built inside and it cuts out , it will restart when it's cooled down. I bought this as an addition to the filtration on my Lay-z-spa hot tub . My water had developed a cloudyness even though it was fresh, (someone switched the pump off by mistake while we were away) the issue is my spa water is at about 38-39° C above the 35° C thermal trip so it runs for a while then stops , restarting when the trip cools, nuisance...... resolved . If my Spa needs extra filtering I just leave the heater off till it drops below 35° C then switch this filter pump on till it has cleared, turning the heater back on afterwards. This filter pump cleared my 850Litres Spa water from cloudy to crystal clear within 48 hours. If you want to use this pump with a Spa / Hot tub it won't have the connections , so you just hang the hoses over the sides at opposite ends of the Spa, to fill the hoses and bleed out air use a flowing hosepipe into the inlet hose with the pump turned off ( this must be done under the surface of the water in the Spa) open the air vent until water flows from the vent , keep the inlet hose under the water and remove the hosepipe. Don't let the inlet hose come above the surface of the water under any circumstances (you will suck air in and have to start over bleeding with the hose) also it will then be noisy. Ensure both inlet and outlet hoses remain under water and you will have a very quiet and efficient filter pump, clean that filter cartridge regularly and it will work and last ages.

Does the job
Purchased this to filter my plunge pool, in all fairness I’ve probably gone too large for what I needed but it does the job no problem. Pipes connect to unit with simple screw together clips. Make sure to check flow direction. The pipes that come with it a pretty long for what I need but can be cut shorter (by half). Best way to get this started is to set up all connections, submerge and fill pipes with water. Then remove lid of unit and fill with hose if possible or watering can. It’s almost silent once set up and will happily filter the pool. Used alongside bromine this kept my plunge clean for almost a month.Don’t expect it to pick up Debris from bottom of pool it is pulling water with that kind of power.Quick note I also pulled the filter out to see how much it had filtered and then simply washed it clean and put it back in.Decent item for the price.

This eats filter cartridges
When the filter has a fresh cartridge it works well enough but it goes through them crazy fast. When I first set up the pool I had hoped to get away with a skimming net and chlorine but quickly realised it wouldn't be enough, even for just a few weeks use (I only planned to keep it up over the school holidays). After about a week of having the pool, I bought the filter and started running it, for the first week or so I was having to replace the cartridge everyday. You can't clean them, you will need a new one. You know it needs replacing because the water stops flowing through it and the bubbles where it reenters the pool dissapear, you'll see other reviews suggesting that the filter broke after a day or two, it likely didn't, that's just the filter needing replacing before you would expect.Once the pool settled down the cartridge would last a few days, I'd say we were getting through 2 a week, which on my income is a lot of money. I did find some foam cartridges which can be cleaned and reused and they work OK, I'll be sticking with those next year.
