Great natural sweetener for gluten‑free baking
I used this Biona organic date syrup for making gluten‑free cookies and was very happy with the results. The flavour is rich but not overpowering, adding natural sweetness without being too strong. First time trying Date Syrup and to me it tastes a bit like Black Treacle. Thick consistency. I use it mainly in my hot and cold drinks. Not sure if sugar is added to this product. Plastic bottle only mentions Dates as the only ingredient. I would guess the Dates were boiled in water and then they were simmered down bringing out it's natural sweetness. Organic (if that's important to you) and can used as a Sugar replacement, which is how I use it. Calories? Not sure. Great value and I will definitely buy again.
