A must for the dog medicine box!
Our lab bitch had a bad cut to her rear pad, which failed to heal and had to be stitched. These boots worked really well once the vets bandages came off, and we were able to take her for walks again. We bought the large to begin with, and they were a bit too big, but the way the boot fastens around the leg meant it stayed in place,it just got a bit scuffed, but still worked okay, and so we found that the medium was a better fit. ( Our girl is a 33kg show type with sturdy legs and feet) The boot being a soft neoprene means they are really flexible and mould to the dogs foot shape, and in our case, she forgot very quickly that she was wearing anything at all. They are easily washed, ( we turned them inside out as our walks are often wet and muddy) to make sure they were properly clean with no gritty bits loitering inside, and have survived some mixed walks. They don't keep the foot totally dry, but in our case protection from dirt and grit was more important, and her foot was still clean when the boot was taken off, and damp as opposed to wet through. We had 2 pairs, so we were able to wash one after each walk. I now keep them in the medicine box just in case. We first used this make of boot 20 years ago, and have tried other, more modern ( and expensive!) styles. If you want a serviceable and sensible protective shoe, with no silly nonsense, these work very well.

Did the job but not very durable.
My dog had badly cut her foot and once the dressings were removed and she was allowed to go for walks again I bought these to try and offer some protection to her foot whilst it continued to heal. The boot itself was easy to fit onto my dogs foot and I was able to get it to stay on quite well (I usually had to stop part way round the walk and readjust it but it never fell off). Initially my dog had trouble walking with the boot on but once she'd got used to it she could walk fine. I found the boot soaked up water quite quickly so if you're looking for something to protest from water these are not the answer. Also the boots wear quite quickly - my dog wore these for two weeks (2 half hour walks per day), there are patches now where the padded parts have worn through. The wear was likely caused by my dog dragging her foot slightly - you could hear it scuffing along the pavement. All in all I'm happy that these did the job I bought them for but they are very much a short term solution given how quickly they wear out.

3 stars
Not sure if they deserve 3 or 4 stars. In the end i rated them 3 stars because they didn't last more than a couple of walks. I've taken pictures of the box size recommendations, what the slipper looks like on my dog and the wear and tear. Overall the idea is good, it did stay on his foot despite him running around like a mad thing and it should help your dog to get around the place without increasing the chances of their injury getting reinfected. Anyway my experience follows: 1. My labrador dog cut his hind left foot on glass or similar. 2. We took him to vets and it cost 240 quid for 4 stitches and a solid bandage which he got changed by the Vet every two days. She encouraged us to keep his foot dry by using a small plastic bag over his foot. But this didn't work the more mobile he got. 3. I looked at all foot coverings for dogs and this seemed reasonable for his needs and wasnt expensive. However I was clueless what size to buy as the descriptions weren't clear. 4. Bought large for my labrador but as the instructions say on the box, but not the advert, buy a size up if your dog is bandaged. 5. Therefore waited until his main bandage was off and used the slipper once the other was no longer required. 6. It fitted ok, reasonably easy to fit on my softy and although he wouldn't have been comfortable wearing them in the house he was happy enough to walk outside with one on. 7. The slipper stayed on despite him running short sprints trying to rid himself of the extra energy he had from being confined for a week but very quickly the sole wore through. See picture after 2 shortish walks mainly on grass. Have used both slippers then over two days and his foot seems to be coming on fine. No slipper today and he wasn't limping. Not a long term solution but gives an extra day or two over cover if required to let the injury heal. 3 stars.

Trixie walker boots, XL
The tape measure in my photos is cm, these size XL boots fit my Germen shepherd well, she is 27 inches high to top of shoulders, I'm glad I didn't get larger as these wrap round perfectly and stay put, they are very flexible and soft, the tapes wrap around above the paw and don't slip down, after a bad cut on one of her pads, the bandage is off and after a week this was her first time out, we were out for over an hour and the boot, which was easy to get on because of the handy split at the back, stayed put, the tapes wrap around and stuck well, walking on the wet dewy grass these boots are not waterproof and got quite damp but her paw was quite dry when removing the boot, I suspect her paw would have been wet if walked through puddles etc, I like that the boots are lightweight so didn't bother our dog to wear them, although she has been out twice now and these boots stay put and keep her paw clean, which is the object of using them, until her paw is 100% healed, we haven't tried on hard ground, only grass, they are great boots and I wouldn't hesitate to buy more as a short term use as I wouldn't think they would wear well with daily use on rough hard ground for a long time. I found these boots easy to wash by hand, after the last rinse I wrapped in kitchen towel and squeezed hard then they took no time at all to dry, I'm going to spray with a waterproofing spray to help. These boots do what they are supposed to and are comfy for my dog to wear, she doesn't try to get them off and they don't seem to bother her, which is a plus as she hates her paws being handled.

Walker care protective boot for dogs.
Arrived quick and well made nice quality etc. You get two boots in a pack. I bought the large for a Westie/ Maltipoo, but on hindsight a medium would have been better fit. Once you have bandaged the paw if a wound then may take up the slack, so only choose a med if still going to be roomy etc. Straps fit top and middle of paw and stay on tight with velcro fastenings and unless you dog is a like Houdini and keeps pulling at it then stays on. Comfortable once on and although my dog did this pathetic flip flop flippers walk at first, it's funny how quick she walked naturally on it when waved a treat at her. lol Very pleased and stops the dog licking at the wound or getting paw wound dirty or sore made worse by walking on gravel or pavement. Can sponge wash clean or soak in mild liquid soap detergent. Pat dry with towel rather than wring out so keeps shape. Dry pegged up by velcro near rad not on rad or outside etc. Really stays on if you fit on right. Once dog gets used to them it wont take much notice and leave alone. I'd advise bit of a dressing on paw if sore or inside boot will rub on wound as walk or run, like carpet burn etc. Get those stretch self cling bandages over a bit of dressing pad. Much easier than tied knots in other bandages.

Both boots sticthing came apart after 2 days. absolute trash
dont waste your money on these, they are not water proof, poorly stitched together, and ill-fitting. we bought these to protect our golden retrievers' paw after get a cut, but they both ripped at the stitch after their first outings, there made of a kind of neoprene that doesn't stop water from soaking the boot, and the straps are designed don't stay on the paw, we found they slipped off and had to reattach it twice, and then the stitch broke. really annoyed given they are not even cheap no one should waste there time with these

Good temporary protection for sore paw
Good protective boot used after my dog badly grazed one of the pads on his paw. Easy to put on and the double Velcro straps enabled it to be secured well around his paw/ankle area where it pretty much stayed in place. His sore paw was kept dry and cushioned against any further abrasion while it healed. I bought size Large for my Labrador /Retriever but would possibly go a size larger as the vinyl backing underneath didn’t quite cover the surface area needed when his paw was flat on the ground. Overall a very economical, effective and pet friendly healing aid. Was worn for 4/5 days (took off at night) and can definitely be used again.

Disappointed
These arrived this morning. They were to cover a sock on the dogs foot to stop her chewing, and getting sock wet. 1) stopped dog chewing foot ✔️ 2) dog comfortable and ok wearing boot, they fitted well, and didn’t fall off ✔️ 3) we had two walks through village and it already has several holes in the bottom. I would have expected the sole to have lasted longer than one hours walk on a sunny day.✖️ 4) I can’t say poor quality because they are made well, and fitted perfectly but not suitable for outside use. Conclusion. Ok to wear in house Stopped dog nibbling foot Not robust enough For wearing outside. Will not be buying again
