The media could not be loaded. I got this to restrict a bathroom window ( a fire safety one so opens very wide ) to prevent my house cats getting out plus the wind taking hold of the window when open.Works perfectly .It doesn’t come with instructions however there are some illustrations in the product description, which I followed .Once I positioned the latches installation was easy . They are self tapping screws provided however I did pilot hole mine as it was difficult to get any purchase due to the position of mine .The latch is also easy to take off if you wish to have the window open wider ( which we need as it’s a window that is a fire escape option ) with it being spring loaded .Good value for money but does need some kind of instructions in the pack to improve the overall product

Due to having house cats, we can't fully open our windows. These devices work perfectly to allow fresh air into your home without the fear of your cat escaping. Depending on where you install the hook, you can alter how much of a gap can be left. If you install closer to the hinge of the window, the wider the gap can be.In new builds, these are perfect to try and let some cool air into your home in the hot summer months.We did find that the actual section of the window the latch was to be placed in was a struggle. We had to use a hammer to make sure it went in properly as it was too wide to be placed in without any additional force. This did cause a slight bit of damage on one window, however this isn't noticeable unless you have the window wide open. The part attaching to the window was no issue.Definitely worth buying but be wary that it might be more of a struggle to install!

This is the second of this type of catch I have purchased. The first was of better quality. I have fitted this one successfully, and it does function. But unfortunately this purchase came without instructions, so you have to rely on the fotos provided by Amazon and your skills if you have never installed one of these before.

The media could not be loaded. These stop our windows opening all the way and give us some piece of mind that our little one is not going to make a break for it as soon as our backs are turned.They were a bit of a challenge to fit as the catch itself needed shimming up by about 3mm to stop it catching the frame. I used a couple of washers to achieve this.There isn't any instructions on how to fit so I slid the catch along - away from the hinge until the end of the hooked end of the catch was under the window opening casement and that's where I fitted it. The window should be open about 3 inches.Screw the catch down, using shims if necessary, and then fit the little post into the end of the catch and then close the window onto it. You should push the window open against the catch to its extent and this is where the post goes.You should be able to hold the post onto the bottom of the window opener in order to screw it in.I have attached a couple of pics and a video to hopefully explain what I mean and how it works.

Easy and quick to fit. It’s a simple, neat and clever design. Could include a longer version to enable a wider opening.Good value for money.

Utter junk! Broke in my hand.
