Tech21 Evo Durable Impact Resistant Case Cover with FlexShock Technology and Checked Pattern for Samsung Galaxy S7 - Smokey/Black

This case is for me absolutely Perfect.Folio cases are not for everyone- but if that's what you want i do not think you will find a better quality and more protective case than this.It was exactly what i was looking for and although expensive compared to other cases out there i was happy to pay to protect my very expensive phone.I was looking for a folio case with a card holder as i prefer not to carry a wallet, the horizontal nature of the card slot in this one is much better than the vertical openings on most folio types - if the slot becomes loose fitting with this case - when it is closed the card can not fall out as it can only move towards the inside of the flap section.With my old folio case for my S5 i occasionally dropped my card and got in a habbit of checking regularly for it which is pretty counterproductive.This case has a very good quality bumper around the phone- this is exactly what you need to protect against screen damage from drops, the phone sits inside this rubberised bumper which is a couple of mm higher than the screen surface- this avoids edge chips you can see with other case designs.The ports are easily accessible- as the S7 is water resistant you have no need for any covers for the ports anyway.The cut outs are large enough to accept oversize aftermarket charging cables and provide enough space that the bottom microphone and speaker are totally clear so playback or call quality is not affected.The rear camera opening is large and reasonably deep- about 2mm which makes it almost impossible for you to damage the camera in a drop (unless you were unlucky enough to drop it directly on a stone etcThe power and volume buttons work well and do not feel at all "wooly" like with some bumper cases- a very neat addition is that when the folio cover is closed there are external button position markers for the volume buttons so you can easily mute an incoming call without opening the case.I haven't drop tested this case as i care about my device- but the soft shock absorbing material inside the rim of the bumper looks and feels like it would easily protect the phone from any reasonable drop- it really is a cut above some of the cheaper bumpers out there.My bluetooth and WIFI have been fine with this case- the NFC works and my wireless charger works fine as well.There is a raised section inside the front cover that is the shape of the screen and sits inside the bumper- this design stops the cover from moving about and gives a really positive fit to the folio when closed. the inner material is a soft moelskin type of material which seems unlikely to cause any damage to the screen glass- (see my later note about screen protector)The magnet on the clasp seems strong enough for the Job, the way the case wraps around the back and fastens on the rear means that the cover stays closed and won't open even if you shake it.One common issue with folio cases is the bottom and top of the screen / device are slightly exposed as they usually use a hard plastic clip in system to hold the phone- the bumper on this case completely encapsulates the device and really does give all the protection you could want.When the folio is closed the magnet clasp does lift the phone so it doesn't sit flat- this doesn't bother me at all- once opened the device sits flat again. I guess over time the metal cover for this magnet clasp could get scratched- but the edge will never fray like some folios.The case has a textured / diagonal ribbed rubberized feel to it- only time will tell but it feels like it will be durable - it certainly looks like a premium case and many of my colleagues / friends have commented on how nice of a case it is and how protective it seems.I mentioned a screen protector- I have seen some bad reviews about protectors that curl as the S7 edges are slightly curved- to avoid this i found one that is slightly smaller than normal- this is a good plan as with this particular case as i feel the bumper edges would perhaps curl or lift the edges of a traditional screen protector- the one i went for is the following:  Hephaestus® SPARTAN GLASS® 9H TEMPERED GLASS Anti-Scratch Shatter-Proof 90% FIT Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy S7  at a 90 % fit it covers most of the screen and will protect from scratches.When it arrived the case was well packaged although there were no installation instructions for the case in my package i can't imagine anyone would really need instructions to simply slip the case into the bumper!The best compliment I could give this case is that I have just ordered the same case for my wife's Galaxy S6- That is how pleased i am with it!

I'm very happy with this case! I'm deducting one star only because the buttons are quite stiff and hard to press which can get a little annoying, but I hope over time they will become easier. Otherwise, this case is amazing. It makes my phone feel so much safer, and gives it a nice weight to it. It also fits perfectly and has a nice texture. Because it's glass, it does slide slightly on my wooden table but that doesn't bother me.Overall I'm very happy with this case, for its price it's incredible, and it's one of the few (possibly the only) sturdy clear cases for an older phone model like my a5 I have found.

So i have had this case for a year now and despite some minor irritation in getting the screen to always stay at exactly the right angle it has thoroughly redeemed itself.First off the signs of wear are limited to the most heavily rubbed parts and yo be honest aren't all that noticable anyway.Secondly and most importantly I have on a few occasions ended up fumbling my phone and dropping it onto concrete or paving stones. One time it landed face down. Another I am pretty sure it went corner first.Not. A. Scratch.And i had to replace the screen 3 times on my last phone despite a case. This case however works and does it so well. Also the flippable screen cover is great for avoiding scratches in pockets etc.Ok so it can make taking pictures annoying sometimes but its not like the phone is fused into the case and having a phone not break is totally worth the mild inconvenience.
