BetaOptics 64-Inch Height Deluxe Tripod for Powerful Zoom Binocular

I purchased this for use with binoculars simply to view birds in my backyard. I guess you get what you pay for with tri-pods. One of the three legs on this one would not lock securely, so it continually slid down while in use. With all three legs fully extended and using an adapter which raises my binoculars a couple inches, the eyes of the binoculars are still at 4 feet and 7 inches, so I still have to bend down to use the binoculars (I'm 5' 6"). The black plastic in the center that connects all three legs is very thin, brittle plastic so it snapped when I pressed down on in trying to set it up (I know the rule: "do-not-force-anything-mechanical" -- I was not pushing very hard at all). Don't buy this tri-pod.

I ordered this tripod because it was advertised as being designed to hold binoculars. It's actually more rugged than the illustration looks. The legs are metal, as are most of the other parts. It holds my 10x50's without problem. I was pleased to find it came with a metal binocular adapter included. The adapters run $10-20 by themselves. This seems a good value for the modest price.
