ArtBin 8413 Upscale 3-Tray Box, Portable Art & Craft Organizer with Lift-Up Trays, Gray

I cannot repeat that enough.Now, a few people talk about it's tackle-box look. They are correct to do so. This is, indeed, an artist's tackle box. I, for one, have no issue with that as it allows you to sort everything without much trouble at all.It is also quite durable, as I have dropped it or banged it around numerous times over the first few months. It has it's scratches and it's dings, but it hasn't had any holes or cracks or issues with opening.

I needed a container that would allow me to see all my makeup at once, wasn't heavy, wouldn't cost a fortune, would be easy to keep clean, had dividers, and would be suitable for daily use at home. This fit the bill.The top shelf rests nicely on the lid when fully opened to stabilize it and there is LOTS of space in these shelves! The only thing I would like added would be an accordion fold-out of all shelves with one step and a little more sturdiness when unfolding/folding them due to the added weight of my makeup. The hinges are metal---much better than the cheaper model that has plastic hinges.If your items aren't heavy, such as artist supplies for which the container is made (!) there should be no problem at all. A very nice box.

Good box for all the art supplies, looks like it is sturdy and will last a while

I gave it five stars, because it is actually an excellent container. I like the metal links instead of the plastic ones. I bought two Artbins in 1995 when I was taking art classes in college. I wanted to purchase an additional that would accommodate my felt pen collection of over 100 items just like the ones that I have. Unfortunately, Artbin does not manufacture these large size containers anymore. I bought this one, knowing that the dimensions were too small...however, I was able to put my pastels and other art supplies in the container. I'm still searching for a three-tiered container similar to my old one for my felt pens which are stuffed into a small box which is unsuitable. If you are looking for a sturdy container, buy this one...just strictly observe the dimensions.

A fabulous keep-all for all my craft supplies. I bought one of these over 20 years ago which I use for all my sewing supplies and I've looked high and low for an additional craft box. I am happy to report this has the same sturdy construction as the original. Another plus is that roomy enough for all my supplies yet at the same time sufficiently lightweight that it's easily transportable. My original was in blue. My only complaint is that the only color option available is in a medium gray. Other than that, I'm absolutely delighted to have found this.

Not much to say— have had one of these for 30 yrs at my cottage and now one at home. Many compartments to store all utensils; light weight and easy to handle and carry all supplies in one place. Originally recommended to me by an experienced artist, I pass that high recommendation forward!

The first two photos are of the broken hinge on the bin I bought here. The second is of the protected hinges on the one I replaced it with. The first one just did not hold up for even one use. I added my supplies and when I opened it several weeks later when I was attending a class, I noticed it would not close again easily and the trays would not go up and down easily. I noticed that the hinge that is attached to one of the trays was broken off and I was not able to fix it. I went to a local art supply store and found one (same “ArtBin” brand) that had much sturdier hinges that were all protected with plastic covers. I purchased that one. The one I bought was bigger but the one there the same size as this one had the same protected hinges. This one is cheaply made.

I am an artist who travels often with my acrylic paints. The photo of the ArtBin tool box shows full size tubes of Liquitex paint that are easily accommodated in the top tray. I use the same brand and size as shown in the photo and even with the bottom of the tube (the pressed seal) folded over the box won't close completely. The paint tube size shown in the photo is not accurate. I am giving the ArtBin tool box three stars because it would work great for artists who work with several different mediums or use smaller tubes of paint. I purchased the box specifically to accommodate & organize the large size tubes of paint shown in the photo and I'm very disappointed that it doesn't serve that purpose. Since I already have tool boxes that work well for the other mediums I work with I am returning the ArtBin Tool Box today.

It's a great little box for storing/transporting art supplies. It is quite a bit smaller than I was expecting so check the specs before you buy. The decal on the front of the box was peeling/flaking off the minute I unwrapped it but the box itself seems to be good quality. Overall, I'm happy with it.
