Q: I have a machine polisher and need to remove fine swirls (only seen under direct light) are these pads right for this? or will they be too coarse?

Yes they may be slightly to course, i personally would recommend a blue or yellow 3M polishing compound pad.

Q: what size are the 3m green componding pads 150/180?

These pads are 6'' (150mm) in diameter, and are Velcro backed.
