Brilliant!
Have been thinking about buying a 'press' for the last couple of years but have never got around to it. Wish I had bought one earlier now. The Fruit Press is really good!!! I have already had a 'play' with 1 kg of apples and got over 1/2 litre of juice, and also have had a demi john of pear juice (really sweet and tasty) will be going to become 'Perry' The press appears to be very sturdy and easy to use, it came fully constructed and ready for use. This was very competitively priced compared to others I had seen on the internet. Glad I bought a 12 litre as it will suit my purpose well.

Great Press
Good press for home use, i have 3 apple trees and gather about a trug full of apples each day in dropping season which filled the 12 litre version and got about 2 litres of juice. As everyone says the blocks supplied are woefully small and there is no way you would be able to squeeze any more than the top couple of inches using what is supplied. I already knew this and had some wooden blocks made from spare timber at home. It comes with a good straining bag and has worked flawlessly after about 10 uses however we are not into cider season yet! Would recommend for home use in conjunction with a good scratter - didn't appreciate quite how long it takes to mash the apples without that!

ok but you have to build it yourself so not value for money for a few bits of timber and metal
Product works well enough, bit messy but I think thats more to do with pressing fruit than anything wrong with this press. Is it value for money? Well no, its a few bits of wood and metal. This would be fine except it arrives completely unbuilt so you have to screw each of the 30 wooden slats into the metal rings by hand (top and bottom). Then assemble the rest. I could have just had someone make this and assemble it for probably less, I understand that there is a packaging issue but still a right pain.

A sturdy, smart looking press that was easy to assemble
A sturdy, smart looking press that was easy to assemble. Only tool needed was a screwdriver to put it together. Blocks are needed as an addition to this kit if you do not have enough apples to entirely fill the barrel to facilitate successful pressing. We made some additional wooden blocks but you can also buy them...

Buy an elecric juicer instead!
Easy to assemble and good quality materials. However, it takes the strength of two men to turn the handle once it crushes the fruit. It needs screwing down to something very solid or you have no chance. Even then, with two of us standing on the block it was screwed to, and my husband turning the handle, he was soon exhausted and we had half a cup of apple juice. Buy an electric juicer instead!

Looks nice, low quality.
Package banged up, could see minor damages on the product. Wooden plate to small for the cylinder. Paint comes of during use and could easily fall in to the juice. Plastic ring crushed by hand power. Looks nice but over all a low quality product.

Elegant and effective.
I thought it was an elegant design and it did exactly what was required, producing delicious fresh apple juice. It was easy to clean. We set ours on to a three inch thick piece of beech with indents for the feet and made a couple more blocks nearly three inches thick. It is worth being patient and letting the last squeeze drip for a while, you will get another pint or more!

Great but you'll need some additional spacer blocks to get the most juice from your fruit.
This looks like a sturdy piece of kit and to be fair, it's seen me through one season of cider-making so far (producing about 25l in total from appleas and pears). First things first, you've got to assemble it. Not a major chore as long as you've got a power-drill or electric screwdriver because there's a lot of screws to put in. Once assembled you fit the supplied mesh bag to the inside of the press and load it up with your mashed fruit - you will need to buy a fruit masher separately to really get the most juice from your fruit. Fruit in place you add top to the the central column, put the wooden blocks on top of your fruit, spin the rotating collar down and start cranking the press. This one holds about 12l of fruit which I found gave me about 4l of juice but the press as it was delivered would never have achieved this much. The wooden spacers supplied with the press don't allow for anywhere near enough squeezing of the fruit. I found I needed to add at least two more rows of spacers before the press would compress the fuit enough to get all of the juice out. This is why it loses astar - there's really no excuse for not including additional wooden spacer blocks - fortunately I had some old off-cuts in the shed that do the job just fine otehrwise I'd have had to buy some wood specially for the purpose. Cleaning is easy - the base is nicely enamelled and rinsed down quickly. Warm soapy water does the trick. Just don't leave it wet after you've used it or the wood could warp.
