Fantastic little book for the secondary teacher starting supply, with information on the secondary subject areas. The ideas in this book help you survive those moments of 'someone's just gone to get the cover work'. They also give you the information/appropriate web sites/ideas to do emergency lesson planning for subjects you haven't studied since you were a teenager.Very firmly recommended

A really useful book for cover supervisors

I'm just about to embark on a new adventure - Supply Teaching in secondary schools. Now my subject is Drama, which leaves a lot to be desired for the other subjects taught in schools. This book will be my bible over the next few months.....I'm already using to put together emergency lesson plans. The book also tells you what to expect from the staff and children at the schools and also includes a section on what to bring with you to the lessons. I love this book and I'd rate it higher if I could :)

At last a practical book that helps secondary supply teachers be more than just babysitters! Lots of ideas for lessons no matter what subjects you're expected to cover, and as a first time cover supervisor I found this indispensable. I think supply agencies should equip all their teachers with this book!
