I started buying this years ago in health food stores and now get it for half the price on Amazon. I hate standard mouthwash, the alcohol just makes it seem worse. I also have a tendency to chew on the inside of my cheeks, it's a terrible habit but I've been doing it since I was a kid. This mouthwash actually heals my mouth which also makes me less likely to keep doing it. It's amazing, it doesn't sting and when I wake up, my cheeks are smoother and it also doesn't dry out my mouth. The taste might not be for everyone(I like it now but it took awhile) but honestly, it's mouthwash not cupcakes, and it works so well if it tasted awful I would still use it.

I've been using this mouthwash for a little over a week now, and so far I think it's pretty good. It has a weird flavor (more on that later) but the main thing I like about it is that I don't feel the need to rinse my mouth back out with water after using it. I've tried all the popular brands of mouthwash, and I don't like any of them. Whenever I use mouthwashes with alcohol, I have to rinse afterwards so my mouth and lips don't dry out. On the flip side, mouthwashes without alcohol tend to be too sweet and leave a sugary film that also requires rinsing. This one doesn't do any of that, it actually CLEANS my mouth with no burning and no residual film. My mouth just feels naturally refreshed after I spit it out. I also like that the ingredients are natural – no weird chemicals, no added dyes to stain your teeth funny colors.The only negative for me is the flavor. It's a very natural, herbal tea tree mint flavor. It's not sweet at all. If you're the type of person that drinks your coffee and tea black, then you might actually enjoy this. To me, it's kind of pungent. That's ok though, I didn't buy this stuff expecting a delicious flavor, I bought it because I wanted something with quality ingredients. I have noticed that the taste changes for me throughout the day though. First thing in the morning when the only other taste I have in my mouth is my own morning breath – the mouth wash is fine. Any other time of day – it tastes sort of gross. I've learned to use it before I brush my teeth, because if I do it afterwards then the comparison of the sweet toothpaste to the bitter mouthwash just makes it taste worse. I still plan on finishing up the bottle, I just wanted to thoroughly describe the flavor for the purposes of my review.

I've been dealing with oral lichen planus for several years now. When I'm having an outbreak it's really painful and makes it really difficult to eat for days at a time. I read a study about tea tree oil helping with outbreaks so I looked for a mouthwash that contained it. And found Desert Essence Mega Mint.It doesn't cure the problem but it helps manage it and helps reduce the pain I experience after eating while the outbreak is active. It is far better than Listerine for that purpose.If anyone has issues with the same thing I can't recommend this mouthwash enough.

This is the Best Mouthwash! it is a bit strong, so I water it down in my water pick! It's great for Gargling and if you have any sores in your mouth. Lasts long for fresh breath as well!!!

I've been using this along with my regular brushing routine and it works great.I've used tea tree oil in ointment to heal cuts, so I thought this might help with my gums which weren't in great shape, according to my dentist. My dentist recommended a new, fancy toothbrush and I also decided to try this.When I went to the dentist and had a great checkup, I told my dentist I had been using this and they definitely said I should keep using it.I looked at other brands and this was the best price. A little goes a long way and my breath is fresher and I'm getting less bleeding in my gums, so I'm going to stick with it!

I was disappointed because the taste [mint flavored] was weak and hardly present although it did tackle morning breathe. A bit of a sting too, not something I like....not quite as strong as an alcoholic brand but on that same sort of path. This was a particularly disappointing experience because I remain a big fan of this brand's toothpastes most flavors of which are both delicious and effective and recommended.
