Do they need to be plugged in?

Gravity feed.....replenishes when animal has eaten, same with water. Do read the specs in the ad! My cats were very happy with them.

How does it let more food out? Like does it just keep filling up as they eat or does it let more food out as they finish what's there?

The dry food keeps filling up as they eat. With the water feeder, there's a valve which releases more water when the water level reaches a low level.

Water dispenser valve has broken how can I get this part replaced? It’s only been used for 6 weeks

It will be okay if they are the small size cat biscuits, but if they are dog biscuits then I don't know - depends entirely on the size of the biscuit.
