The Case of Beasts: Explore the Film Wizardry of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

I wish I could give this six stars! I loved the film, I bought this book on the strength of the reviews here and I am so happy I did. It is a lovely book, so well thought out. So much detail about the making of the film with loads of really interesting art work and photos. Great insights into how the various problems were overcome to bring this story to the screen. Lovely profiles of characters. Some really good reproductions of posters and other items you'd have seen in the film, including my very own Wand Permit form. I read this book and took in all its visuals in one long sitting this afternoon and will really enjoy dipping into it again and again.Don't hesitate! If you are a fan of the whole Potter/Magical World that JK Rowling has created you will be delighted with this book. For all ages.

Beautifully designed, this is a lovely companion book to the movie, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” The hardback is even designed to look like a case; the sepia colour of the paper and the layout all add to the 1920’s style and, best of all, this is not all style and no substance, but it is packed with lots to read and explore.The book is full of photographs, pull outs, information on the characters, actors (and actresses) that star in the film, the sets and more. There are eight chapters, which all deal with different facets of the storyline – so one chapter looks at New York, another Macusa, another The Blind Pig, etc. The last chapter looks at Newt’s case and introduces all of the creatures mentioned in the movie, just in case you do not have the original version of, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” If you don’t, then a new version is being republished in March, 2017.This really is a lovely gift book. I have purchased this for my children, who really enjoyed the movie and are happy to embrace a new era in J K Rowling’s magical world.

I eventually bought this book after months of thinking about it. So glad I did. The quality of the book is top notch, even the pull out sections are made of really thick paper. Any fan of the film or graphic designers/artists with no real interest should love the detail and explanations of what the cast and crew dealt with on set. The thought which goes in to all the design is phenomenal and the talent of the design team is outstanding. I would have loved to have followed them around for a few days but this book almost allows that. Highly recommend it.

Fantastically informative, fun and high quality movie props and replicas. Once again, MinaLima knock it out of the park. BUY THIS, and then the Crimes of Grindelwald, also by MinaLima. AVOID the Secrets of Dumbledore, this isn't by MinaLima and it's abysmal.

THE MOST STUNNING BOOK EVER since I bought the screenplay from Fantastic Beasts. This is really amazing and all you guys should got it. Inside, it's full of pictures and pulls out, like Tina's MACUSA identifying card, or the senator Shaw propaganda leaflet. There are also 4 big posters you can pull out, like the America map with the the magical exposure, the map of the world from Diagon Alley, and Newt and Tina's wanted posters.It's my favourite book I got from fantastic beasts, like the harry potter movie magic book was my favourite of the harry potter books I own.

This is an excellent book. I will admit I am a Harry Potter geek so I might be somewhat biased but after seeing the Fantastic Beasts film I wanted something to delve into the story further.The detail in the book is outstanding and just what we come to expect from the wizarding world. There are some brilliant facts, photos, sketches and pullouts that really kept me entertained.I have recommended this book to several friends.

I bought this as a present thinking it was a book written by JK Rowling (I am utterly clueless as have no idea about Harry Potter type literature). It is a book about the making of the film. A quality book if you really like this type of thing but would not really have bought if I had known - yes it is my own ignorance.

if you love the film as much as I do, you will LOVE this book! it is just so full of interesting pictures, and large and little things you can take out. also a lot larger than i expected too! it has a magnetic closing also. i know it's called the book of beasts and i bought it thinking it was just about the animals, but it's so much more, has everything about the film and very personal touches :) don't think about it, just buy it!
