Great little bandsaw, smooth cutting and enough power
This WEN 9-inch benchtop bandsaw is better than I was expecting. For such a small saw, it easily handles curved cuts in 2" hardwood without any strain. Cuts are clean with the included 1/4" blade, with no burning. Setup was simple - the blade was pre-installed on the saw, with correct tension and centering. The aluminum table required no adjustment - just attach the tilt mechanism and the angle pointer. All in all, I'm very happy with this bandsaw. Like most WEN products, it delivers sufficient performance at a reasonable cost.

Safe! Accurate
For a compact benchtop band saw, this one really delivers more than I expected—especially at this price point. It’s a great option for small workshops, DIY projects, or anyone getting into woodworking without investing in a full-size machine. Assembly was pretty straightforward, and once set up, it runs smoothly with minimal vibration. The size is perfect for a workbench, and it doesn’t take up a ton of space. Despite being compact, it has enough power to handle light to medium cuts without struggling. It does best with smaller stock and detail work. With the right blade and proper setup, you can get clean, accurate cuts. Like most tools in this range, a little fine-tuning (blade alignment, tension, etc.) goes a long way in improving performance. Pros: • Great value for the price • Compact size—perfect for small workshops • Smooth operation with minimal vibration • Good for light to medium woodworking tasks • Easy to assemble and set up • Ideal for beginners and hobbyists Cons: • Not powerful enough for heavy-duty or thick hardwoods • Stock blade may need upgrading for best results • Fence and adjustments can require fine-tuning • Smaller cutting capacity compared to full-size models Overall: This is a solid entry-level band saw that punches above its weight. It’s perfect for hobbyists, DIYers, or anyone with limited space who still wants a reliable tool. With a little setup and possibly a blade upgrade, it performs really well for everyday woodworking tasks.

Great for a starter band saw!
This is the first bandsaw I've ever owned and was looking for an affordable option to try one out and develop my skills. Right out of the box, it's ready to go. The table surface was a little scratchy, not sure if that was intentional. It took a little finesse to get it level and square to the blade. The black paint on the sides of the miter gauge slots flaked off immediately but that's cosmetic and not a dealbreaker for me at this price. My first cut was smooth and easy, and it's much quieter than I expected (compared to a miter saw/table saw). The 2-1/2" dust collection port is super tight (which is odd, since my WEN belt/disc sander combo port is just fine), but I just used a file to taper it a little to make the connection easier. I used it to cut some maple, walnut and cherry on edge (3-1/4" tall) and it was slow going but I took my time and it did the job. Cutting curves on 1" thickness was extremely easy. It's not too heavy, so it's easy for me to lift onto my workbench when it's time to use it, and put it away when I don't. All in all, a good buy for the price, and a very decent band saw to learn on!

Does the job of the Big Boys, but much cheaper!
Great light weight substitute for a professional grade band saw. I only occasionally use it.... Everytime though for intricate projects, and it exceeds my original expectations.

Yippee! I gots me a real band saw!!!!
This replaced an old-as-the-hills Sears 10 inch machine that had neither a fence nor a real miter gage. The WEN has both and the fence does a good job of locking down at straight on the table. I do check it with a square when I set it, just to be sure. I bought several additional Timberwolf blades for it and have tested it resawing 2 1/8" thick slabs off of a 2x4. The 2x4 fits without binding and the fence guided it thru the resaw process accurately. Today I used my smallest blade to 1/4 inch off of a 1/2" thick piece of ebony. Sliced right through that tough wood! Changing blades is easy and quick, but you gotta watch that the blade comes out of the blade cover on the left side of the machine. If you don't get the blade out of the slot before you take the blade off the wheels the blade can turn sideways and get stuck. I like the window that lets me see if the blade is running properly on the upper wheel after a blade change. I like the fact that the upper blade guide is on a geared shaft and does not fall down when you loosen its set screw knob. I like the dust port that I can hook my shop vac into and suck out most of the saw dust while I cut. I like, I like, I like the whole machine!!! It is one of the more inexpensive table top band saws out there. I watched a number of YouTube reviews on band saws before I purchased this one. It was highly rated in most of the reviews of saws in its price range. I doubt that it is intended as a production machine in a commercial woodworking shop, but for the home use, I think this one is hard to beat!

Super, simple dumb product
I'm a lifelong woodworker. Unfortunately, I've never had a dedicated woodshop, so my lifelong hobby has had to endure benchtop tools on mobile bases in my garage. Most of my tools were from Delta, which is no longer around. And after 25+ years of service, my Delta tools are failing and need to be replaced. I've been replacing them with products from WEN, with mixed results. Mostly, they're good. But there are some stupid things that drive me nuts. Ergo, why I deducted two stars for this review. Any woodworker with a kernel of experience knows how important it is to "square" the tool. A table saw needs to make a 90-degree cut. A 90.1-degree cut results in a terrible outcome if you are doing something that requires precision. All woodworking equipment I'm familiar with has an adjustment to use to "zero the measurement." On this WEN bandsaw, it is the absolute worst and most frustrating I have ever experienced. To zero the worktable, there is a screw in the chassis. Loosening the screw increases the angle of the worktable relative to zero, tightening the screw decreases it. It's a common system. The receiving hole in the chassis should be machined to accept the screw threads, with a locking nut to secure it. In the case of this product, the hole in the chassis is a pass-through. No threads for the screw. There is a nut on the top of the chassis wall, and a nut underneath it. You can't put a wrench on the one on the underside of the chassis, because the lower wheel blocks it. So you have to try to hold the nut steady in the lower wheel chassis with the tips of your fingers on one hand, and manipulate the screw and nut on the outside of the lower wheel chassis to make the adjustments required to the zero stop. It's a nightmare. It took me over an hour to adjust the worktable to zero within 0.1 degrees. It should be a 5-minute exercise. And I'm not confident that the "zero" will hold. There aren't any locking washers, and I suspect that the tool's vibration will compromise the tightness of the opposing nuts and the zero. I know I'll be tinkering with this the entire time I have this tool in service. This is a super simple thing, and I hope the WEN product managers look at the reviews of their products. Other than this very frustrating thing (for me), the band saw is of good quality, and I'm satisfied with its initial use. If the WEN product managers could weed out these stupid oversights (I have other "stupid" complaints with other WEN tools) I'd have nothing but WEN for my woodshop. But these nagging frustrations keep me shopping around every time I need to make another purchase.

Perfect hobby saw.
After watching many videos on small bandsaws, this one ticked all the boxes. A tad more expensive than some others in the same category. The feature that sold me was the bearings at the blade guides. Made for hobby use for sure, light and easy to move around. It will do most things the home woodworker will be faced with. Ordered extra blades to be ready for the inevitable broken blade on a weekend. Stuff happens.
