Retrospec Apollo Detachable Front Bike Basket Steel Half-Mesh with Integrated Detachable Hooks and Built-In Handle, Easy Assembly and Portability for Bicycles

I really liked the basket. I liked the way it was easy to install and the size of the basket, and how easy it is to remove it from its carrier. But I discovered that my bike's geometry did not work well with this basket. The handlebar stem on my bike is too short and it made the basket. Stick out at a strange angle. That made it feel heavier than it was. I have some other bikes and it would have worked fine on them if they needed a basket, but they didn't. I don't know how you figure out if your bike has the right geometry but if your handlebar stem is fairly long and angles out over your front wheel, it will probably be great for your bike. If you have a short stem that does not angle out, it puts the basket at an odd angle and makes it have weighting issues. I was trying to put it on my ebike. You can see from the photos that the light is in the way, but that could be moved down to right above the tires. That was really not an issue. If you look at the picture with the blue arrows, you can see one arrow is straight-up-and-down. The other arrow is the angle of the basket, which is really quite tipped on my bike. On my husband's bike the handlebars angle out in such a way that it would have been fine for his bike, but he doesn't want a basket.

I can't think of anything that would make this basket better. The built quality is top notch and it even has features that many baskets don't have like and easy release system and handles. If you want a basket to carry things like water bottles, grocery food ETC, this basket is for you. A solid product that's also affordable in my opinion.

I like the material and color but unfortunately it didn’t fit my bike. So I have to return it. I have mountain bike but I want a small basket for my bike. This basket will use your bike to hold so if your bike doesn’t strong enough or support its weight, the basket probably falls off and not stand still for you to use. I would recommend looking for basket that you can connect the basket that have their own stands maybe connect with the wheels or bike body not jut mount to your bike.

Looks very cute, even on an adult bike. Super easy to install and holds very sturdy. After reading other reviews used a couple of small binder clips to hold the basket handles in place when attached to the bike. Plenty of space to carry my bag, water bottle, etc., but bike feels less stable and more difficult to navigate, especially if the stuff in the basket is too heavy or not positioned evenly. But that's to be expected from this design I would think. Overall happy with the looks and utility.

Excellent product, well made. One issue I encountered the second day I had it on my bike. Hit a bump coming off a bridge and the basket jumped off the bike and was on the ground in front of me. That's the bad news. The good news is the basket wasn't even scratched and the contents were undamaged. The problem is the handles jumped up and the basket unhooked and went flying. The problem is easily fixed with a couple of twist ties...solved. I now keep a bungee cord stretched across the top which also helps keep anything from jumping up. All that the manufacturer needs to do is fashion some sort of clip on both sides to secure the handles. I considered 4 stars due to the flaw but it's so minor and easily avoided that I still give it 5 stars.

Basket itself is well made and over a year now with several rides in the rain, it has not rusted.The reason I gave it 3 stars is because of the quality of the belt that goes around the hook frame to keep the basket from bouncing around. That material of the Velcro strap is not well made. The sewing keeps failing and the material is fraying. I’ve had to sew it back on around the metal part 3 times now.Other than that the basket it self is great.

Sturdy and easy to install. Perfect basket for my bike!

Returned this item. Belonged on a bicycle not a wheelchair which was my mistake.
