Working perfectly well

This isn't the most robust piece of kitchen equipment ever but if treated with kindness, I'm sure it will last well. The only frustrating part of the design is that it does not "remember" the previous unit setting. ie it ALWAYS defaults to farenheit and the switching button is identical to all the other buttons so I find that switching it to centigrade ALWAYS requires me to read the label to find the button!It would not be hard to chnage the design to default to the previously used setting.I find that using a thermometer however, is absolutely essential if you are concerned with avoiding food poisoning from undercooked meat products. Particularly when using a microwave. Why doesn't everyone!!

* EDITED REVIEW* Recieved thermometer, didnt turn on, changed the battery, still didnt turn on. Asked for a replacement, they sent me another one... exactly the same problems again... like ?? Why?? Is it something I'm doing?? There is an on and off button.. I'm guess I should at least start there... nope.. nothing.. two in a week.. I suggest you crack open a few of your products that you have and test them too.Ok... MY MISTAKE!! heres why....When you get this product, there is a small circular sized black piece of 'cardboard' or a black 'disc'...ok.... remove that first!! I didnt know that.Apologies.Changed the 1* rating to a 5*Sorry, I will keep the items I've asked for my money back for and I dont mind being charged twice for a duplicate item. I'll keep both. As they are my fault.

Worked ok out of the packet but is not moisture proof. Needs to be used with care near heat sources also - plastic case started to melt and de-form when I tried to dry out my unit after testing calibration in a beaker of boiling water. At the price it's for nothing so you get what you pay for. It's in the bin now as it retained a -50C offset - all my fault for getting steam near it when checking calibration. Opened it up to take a look inside - is of a rather fragile construction. I give it 3 stars because it would probabily would have been ok had I not got condensed steam on it :( .

The instruction leaflet says there is a plastic pull tab in the battery compartment that has to be pulled out before the thermometer can work.There is no pull tape. So I sent the first device back because it would not work. The replacement was just the same, so I got a nail file and flicked the black disc out of the bottom of the battery bay and it works really well!C H A N G E T H E I N S T R U C T I O N S H E E T Or at least put a sticker on the packets!

Accurate thermomete quick to measure and I like the on/off button so battery life should be good, cover on probe means it's well protected, the build quality is ok and I feel I need to handle with care but good buy for the price

battery arrived dead so wasnt able to do my water testing carnt find a replacement battery for this item

Great thermometer for coffee geeks - measures the water temperature very accurately. It also has a room temperature function - and all that for a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Temperatur Messungen.Das digital Thermometer misst alles.Nur nicht die richtige Temperatur.Absoluter Blödsinn das Gerät.Körpertemperatur mal 25° und mal 30° 😳. Nur für die Tonne geeignet.

La prise de température est très lente, temps de réaction très long. Il prend peu de place, son point fort.
