A simple grinder that does the job well
This has been a good little grinder and has done exactly what I bought it for. The size is convenient for everyday use and it's been perfectly capable of handling coffee, spices and other small grinding jobs without any issues. The stainless steel design looks nice on the worktop and feels more solid than some of the cheaper plastic alternatives. The operation is straightforward and the safety lock on the lid is a sensible feature that prevents accidental operation. It's not trying to compete with expensive specialist coffee grinders, but for general kitchen use and occasional grinding jobs it performs well and has proven to be a reliable little appliance. Simple, effective and I've had no complaints with it.

Excellent product
This is an excellent product. It has never failed me. Ergonomic and excellent design. Grinds to the degree you want by listening to the sound of the grind. You can hear when its right. Excellent speed. Easy to clean. Grinding rice first allows you to then grind spicws if you want or nuts.

Cheap, efficient, grinds nuts down to crumb size but creates a bit of a paste
I bought this for grinding nuts down into crumbs to use in baking cakes in place of flour. Having previously spent ages laboriously crumbing nuts by placing them under clingfilm and bashing them with a meat hammer or rolling them with a rolling pin, I decided to invest in a grinder.. the reviews for this one were good and at the low price it was worth trying out. So far I've only used it once, for grinding walnuts into crumbs. The capacity isn't very big so for 250g of walnuts I had to do them in 2 batches. There is no settings feature so you just press the big black button to turn it on and watch through the clear lid until you've got the result you want, then release the button to turn it off. The blades are very sharp and the walnuts were indeed ground down to tiny sand/crumb size, but the crumbs were not loosely packed like breadcrumbs but rather in a paste-type form like wet sand. From what I've read in other reviews this is due to the oil in the nuts. Still, it worked for me, I scooped out the paste and loosened it up a bit with a fork so I could sprinkle it into my cake tin. Cleaning it is slightly tricky.. the device doesn't come apart so you can't rinse it under a tap. Instead I used a napkin to wipe the inside clean, but you have to be careful to avoid the sharp blades. You also have to clean the rim where the lid goes as crumbs can get in there. Overall it's not perfect, which is why I only gave it 4 stars, but it does the job a lot better and easier than if I didn't have it so I'm pleased I bought it. For the low price you can't lose. I've never had an electronic grinder before so I can't compare to other products. Also, it's nice vertical cylinder shape means it doesn't take up much space, and it looks really nice and of good quality material.

Cheap, cheerful, and it works!
My old grinder broke spectacularly and I simply wanted a cheapish replacement, as my needs are simple: put beans in, press button, grind coffee, empty out. So I clicked through the alternatives offered by Amazon and saw this Wahl grinder that seemed to fit the bill. The reviews, overall, seemed good and the price was enticingly low, especially if you factor in free delivery. It arrived within three or four days and was smaller than I had anticipated but, in many ways, that was advantageous. The grinding mechanism itself still perplexes me, as I can't figure out how it works -- the "blade" is completely blunt yet turns coffee beans almost instantly into a very fine grind; just perfect. I like my coffee strong and I think you'd be able to make 4-5 strong cups from the amount of beans you could fit into the stainless steel bowl at the top of the machine. Simple to clean, you only need to wipe the inside with some kitchen paper or a damp cloth, and it does everything it says on the box. I use it almost every day and would expect it to last me a couple of years if treated with respect. So far I would have to say it's pretty much perfect and, at the price, very much a bargain. Heartily recommended.

Grinds Beans
What can I say?, it grinds beans, and very well indeed. The unit is small and compact, and is not at all intrucive amongs other kitchen gadgits. It is operated with a pulse power button the front, allowing you do decide just how fine or course you want to have your coffee beans. It has a see through lid, so that you can see the contense, and is very easy to clean it has a space on the base to store the mains cable, so that you can have the lead as long, or as short as you like without it getting in the way. It's easy co clean, and works as expected, just the thing if like me, you like the taste of freshly ground coffee. The grinder is very nice, and not at all cheep looking, even though it is. And for £14.99, its cheaper than some hand powered grounders. I would happily recommend this item, and I have just purchased a second unit for my mother-in-law (yes it's that good) and I am sure I will be in good books over Christmas.

A machine for coffee and spices...forget the nuts.
Compact and easy to use, it won't eat up lots of surface space. So simple is the design that Wahl forewent any instructions. Quite annoying really, but actually, it's child's play. Plug it in, add your coffee/spices, and press the button. There's no control in regards how fine your grind will be but the longer you press/pulse, the finer the grind. The see-through window is thus very handy. They could advise novices like me you how many beans make a cup, but that's all guesswork. It handled my first batch of coffee easily, within seconds I had a fine ground. Just what you need when you're making coffee fresh and not in big batches. As I use both a percolator and a french press, this is not an issue. I realise for coffee, a burr grinder is all the rage, but for unfussy coffee lovers, this does the job very well. As for my first batch of nuts (almonds), forget it. They do warn you that a paste will form due to the oiliness of nuts, but what they fail to mention are the fumes telling you that the little 150w motor is rather unhappy. I could only grind these almonds in small tablespoon measures, so it was not worth the trouble. My recipe required 50g, this took me 10 minutes. (A trick to get a quicker grind is to add a pinch of flour with your nuts to soak up some oil, and to do it in batches. Very, very small batches.) Yesterday, I got the urge to do my spices, and the machine has redeemed itself. Within a flash I had over 200g of roasted spices ground to a fine powder done in 2-3 batches. It was miraculous; previously it would take me all night with a pestle and mortar or Flavour Shaker. A far superior way of producing fresh spices, the hand method never produced a fine enough grind anyway. I contacted them, asking how it could be cleaned if it cannot be immersed in water. Their reply was a bit moronic, I was advised simply 'to wipe it clean'. Fine, I can immerse the screw top in soapy water for a through clean, but the base? Do you want spice and nut sediment in your coffee? Maybe you do, but I don't. So for ease of cleaning, it's a nightmare. Lastly, though it looks like some space shuttle, it's not as advanced as all that. The cap screws on with difficulty, and one needs a firm grip to unscrew it. Not hot when you're doing batches, In sum, you get what you pay for (namely, a two year guarantee). A spatula-cum-brush wouldn't be amiss, but again, you get what you pay for.
