Best high-end budget sander on the market
THis is a great sander for various reasons. First of all the price is right. This is clearly modeled after the Mirka sander, but it is only a fraction of the cost. For the price you get lots of versatility: Variable speeds, 5 or 6" sanding capacity, Crazy long power cord for sanding while using your neighbor's power. The Form factor makes this a gem to use as it is easy and fits in your palm. It is a little on the heavy side, but it is lighter than my old sander, so I cannot complain. The dust collection, when hooked to my shop vac is perfect! A note about the company: Their customer service was great. I had an issue and everything was taken care of. The sander was shutting off at times: after some back and forth, The item was replaced. I have since bought another one for a friend as a gift. Grab this if you are on a budget.

Very pleased with this sander for metal prep and body work
I picked up this sander to save on having to run the air compressor for smaller sanding jobs where I'd normally use a 3M DA sander. I am someone who has a lot of tools, more so than most any sane person needs, and normally stick to the name brands out there. I can count on one hand how many power tools I have that are from a lesser known manufacturer. WIth that said, when I received this sander, opened it up, and inspected it, I was pretty darn pleased with the quality. About the only thing that isn't super high quality is the dust extraction hose, but I kind of expected that. At least it came with a hose. I had a project where I was refinishing a Turbo Chef oven, and thought this sander would be perfect for that project. Wow is all I can really say. It's super quiet at speeds 3 and below, and very smooth. I love that it has the paddle like a normal air DA sander, and it worked flawlessly. I did use dust extraction hooked to a small Shopvac using an additiona 10' hose, and the dust extraction was decent. I ran this sander for a couple hours while I prepped various parts and it was a pleasure to use. I'm glad I saved a few bucks and went with this sander, and will be putting it through another much larger project for an automotive refininishing job coming up soon. Based on how it performed for me during my most recent project, I'm fully confident it will do a great job. If you're looking for a good alternative to a DA sander and don't mind the cord, this is a great option.

They don't last long.
This looks great and runs great but soon dies after the 90 return policy. The first one I bought lasted two months and I gave it the benefit of the doute and replaced it. First its slows down and speeds up and the switch quits working properly and next it has no power at all. The insides are inferior which is to bad, more junk from over seas.

My new favorite sander
I've used a number of popular orbital sanders but I bought this one as an upgrade. This thing is fantastic. It's so much quieter than my Ridgid and much more adjustable and comfortable to use. The switch is sturdy and works well. It doesn't buck like some sanders do when they kick on... It quickly spools up, which is a nice touch. I wouldn't say it weighs any less but is well balanced. The shop vac when hooked up does a good shop of grabbing most of the saw dust. Not much of any cleanup needed. Great sander for the money. Don't go cheap on sanders because almost every wood project you do you have to use it. It's one of the most used tools in your shop even if you hate using it.

Two stars for two years. And then it dies
Two stars for the just shy of two years of perfectly good service this gave me. And today, while starting a large project, it crapped out. I cannot even get the power light to come on. I have always used this with a dust extractor ( not a shop vac) so it has had plenty of airflow/cooling. Very disappointed with quality and lifespan. When it worked, it worked great. I thought I had found a Unicorn. Reasonable price and 85-90% as good as the brands it clones.

Great sander with one caveat
I bought this knowing I would need to sand a ton of IPE boards and my old Dewalt palm sander was going to kill my wrists in the attempt. Not wanting to shell out $600 or more for a sander, this one caught my eye after seeing some reviews. Well I have been impressed. This thing really does a great job working through the grits and dust collection is decent as well. One huge caveat, there seems to be a design flaw in the way the cord is attached. Many others have reported issues with the sander shutting off and not working after being in use for quite a while. I had this issue after 4 months of use. I reached out to customer service through their website and after a bit of back and forth, they identified the issue. Instead of having me return it, they provided a video of how to open up the sander and cut out part of the cord and splice it back. It looks like a portion of the wire had weakened or broken internally. The fix only took about 5-10 minutes and everything is working great again. While the DYI aspect of addressing the issue is a bit wonky, it was much faster than sending it in for a replacement. I have since used the attached velcro strap to double back the cord on itself to provide tension relief in case that was the initial cause of the failure. So if you are careful not to yank or hold the sander by the cord and possibly up for fixing it yourself, this is a definite buy!

Excellent value
I love this sander! I've only ever used low end sanders- super top heavy, insane vibration, barely any dust collection. I can't compare this to something like a festool, but short of a robotic arm to do the sanding for me, I can't think of anything else I'd want or need. I got this during Prime day sale, and I'm delighted about the value- performance vs cost, you really can't go wrong with this. Dust collection is excellent- I barely noticed any with my shop vac hooked up. It's well balanced so the dust hose doesn't yank it off the table when you put it down. It's comfortable in my hand and I barely notice the vibration. The noise is well below that of my shop vac. I've only done some small projects so far, but if I had to do hours of sanding I don't think it would be all that bad now. This item came with only the 6" head for a slightly lower cost; the 5" head can be purchased separately and the cost works out the same to buying it all in one set. The sanding discs that came with it weren't bad, seemed to dull quickly, but all together I had a beautifully smooth finish with no pigtails. If you're on the fence about the maxXT I say- Do it! I think you'll be pleased.

Great, versatile sander
I love that it has both a 5 and 6 inch sanding head. Compared to Rigid sander this one replaced, it vibrates so much less than my old one which helps eliminate swirling. It's also much faster and had no issue bogging down even on broad end grain. The dust collection pretty good, it was very convenient that it came with it's own hose to hook up to the shop vac. I have noticed a bit of dust build-up around where the sanding head attached to the sander itself, but this might be because I only have it connected to a shop vac with a dust separator and not a higher end dust extractor or dust collector. I've had this sander for about a week, it's gotten a solid 10 hours of use on cherry, plastic and epoxy and I love it so far with no real complaints. The only thing I would consider even a slight complaint is the provided sand paper hardly lasted a few minutes before all of the grit rubbed off of it, but that's not even something worth considering overall.

Love it!
I’ve been using this sander for a few months and I absolutely love it. Wish I had bought it sooner.

Nice piece of kit
A recent job was sanding and refinishing 12 scaffold board tables for a wedding venue. I started off with my Makita 125mm orbital and immediately realised it was going to take months. I researched orbital sanders and found that what I needed was an aggressive 5.0mm orbit with a low profile handle for comfort. Mirka was the go to tool but its price was prohibitive. The Maxxt had all good reviews and seemed to fit the bill at a good price. When it came I set it up with 80 grit mesh and attached a Trend shop vac. This is what I found: 1. So, so quiet. 2. So comfortable. I did a 6 hour stint and I was a little tired but non of that tingly vibration thing that aches your wrist and weakens your grip. 3. About 95% less dust than my old sander. 4. Clears through the wax varnish and stain to the bare wood in a quarter of the time. 5. It still produced a super fine finish when I put a 180 grit mesh on to finish. So, one of my better purchases and nothing disappointing about it. I would advise you use the mesh type sanding discs with it, they last and you don’t have to bother trying to line up the holes in the pad. It almost makes sanding fun. Almost.

Veramente ottima
