A very good machine, especially when on sale
This is a very good coffee machine that produces consistently enjoyable espresso without taking up too much space on the worktop. It is straightforward to use once you get familiar with it, and the milk frother is useful for making cappuccinos and other milk-based coffees at home. The machine is regularly reduced, and at its sale price I think it offers particularly good value. You still need decent coffee and a little practice with the grind and amount used, but the machine itself is more than capable of producing a proper cup of coffee. A good choice for anyone who wants to move beyond pods without buying a much larger or more expensive machine.

Good machine but poor, incomplete manual
I've replaced an older Delonghi coffee machine which I've had for 6 years with this one. It is nice and compact and makes good coffee, but the manual relies almost totally on icons and images which are difficult to understand and is incomplete. The machine is programmable, to set water temperature, cup size, water hardness and auto-switch off, but this is only described in the videos on their support page (use the QR code) which I'd strongly recommend viewing or you'll probably be disappointed. That said, the videos contain an error, two of the settings seem to be controlled by the same button. Once you figure it out though, it is a decent machine. I used ChatGPT to help with the settings.

Speedy, long lasting space saving machine, 4+ years
Long lasting space saving machine! Works like a charm and I do descale it properly and I use distilled water. I love it because It occupies very little space and I have a grinder too from Delonghi so my coffee is freshly brewed everyday! I got one of the bottomless porta filter coffee handle and basket. The cream, aroma and taste are better than a coffee shop. I was on a budget when I bought this and it saved me a lot of money as I stop buying coffees outside and also I paid a reasonable amount for a coffee machine that has its own tank rather than needing pressure and other connections. I make a lot of coffees everyday and I’m very pleased with it! It is a bit loud but its fast so that is no bother to me. When I hear the sound and smell of fresh coffee, I know my day begins the right way thanks to Dedica Delonghi and I didn’t even try to create a headline 😂 They better give me royalties for this! Now seriously if you want a no fuss, good quality at a reasonable price coffee machine that lasts in time, then get this one. I had several coffee machines before this but stopped searching with this one. My family has sage and other more expensive coffees but I prefer mine and now I could afford a more expensive one but I’ll stick to this one as this is how pleased I am with it. Is the speed of it that I love!

Makes fabulous coffee, programmed to your individual tastes
My first impression was that it was a beautiful and compact machine that would look lovely in my kitchen to replace a 5 year old pod machine which I felt was not environmentally friendly. I read the instructions carefully because that's the kind of person I am. I suspect that if you are not a read the instructions kind of person you may be disappointed with the coffee that you get! So, I cleaned it as instructed and set it up. Then I ran the circuit program to clean the insides. No problem at all. Now, I live in a hard water area so wanted to change that setting. I read the instructions again and made my first attempt, this resulted in my getting water everywhere. I realised that I hadn't been quick enough to press the right button and it made me a cup of coffee instead. I suggest removing the drip tray and putting a container under the outlet when in programming mode, just in case. Some reviews say that the coffee isn't hot enough. Well, you can change the temperature of the water. I like mine hot so I changed the setting to hot, it made very hot coffee. I like espresso, cappuccino and flat white. Espresso is easy, just use the 1 cup basket. The first time I tried the coffee took ages to come through, I realised that I'd tamped too much. The second time was much better. However, I need to mention my next issue, I really really struggled to twist the handle to lock the holder into place. I found myself wrestling with the machine for several minutes. Having used it for a few days now, it does get easier and it locks into position without the wrestling. Note that the tamper that comes with the machine is okay but you need to hold it at the bottom, if you push the top, it bends alarmingly. I bought the wood and metal tamper which is much easier to use. Cappuccino etc is also easy once you realise how the frother works. I recommend watching a YouTube video but basically you pop the ring up for hot milk and down for frothy milk. To get the wand off, twist to the right and pull down. It's easy once you know how. Cleaning it was straightforward. My final choice is for a mug of coffee, and I do have a few of these every day! To achieve this I reprogrammed the 2 cup button to run more water through the machine using the 2 cup filter basket and 10g coffee. I have a slightly larger mug too, to fill this one I use 12g ground coffee, my reprogrammed 2 cup button, and then the default 1 cup button to get an extra 60ml of water through. I absolutely love, love, love this machine. It makes perfect coffee every time xxxxx

An Epic Odyssey with an Apocalyptic End! Avoid DēLonghi Dedicas EC685 & EC885!!!
My daughter purchased a DēLonghi Dedica EC685 and was so impressed that I decided to also purchase one… It worked fine for a while, but then totally stopped working so I contacted DēLonghi under their 3 year warranty and as they couldn’t fix it, they sent me a new DēLonghi Dedica EC885! Wow! I thought I had struck gold… It worked fine for a year or so, but then starting sounding strange and finally gave up the ghost so I contacted DēLonghi again as it was still under its 3 year warranty. The customer service agent was brilliant and arranged collection and I had it back within a week!!! (warning, I had to be there all day for ParcelForce collection and redelivery) I was so happy to have my EC885 back, but when I went to use it, nothing had changed!!! It still did not work same as before I sent it off for repair… So, I called again and again the customer service agent was brilliant and arranged the same collection… I asked if I could have a new machine as the one I had seemed inherently faulty at this point… she said that only the factory could decide that… So again I waited all day for the collection and then a week later I waited all day for the return… And when I went to use it, again it did not work with the same problem as before… So, I called yet again in despair (3rd time) and asked if I could have a new machine and the customer service agent said off the record that they had been having a lot of problems with machines being sent off for repair and being sent back unrepaired and that I certainly was not the only person with this problem, but that there was nothing they could do… so another 2 days lost waiting for collection and redelivery… this time when it came back, it did work, but the noise it made was almost scary… the repair had not sorted out the noise it had started to make when the problems had started, but I was just so happy to have it back and knew that their repair centre was way less than satisfactory, that I just put up with the noise… My daughter came to visit a few weeks back and when she went to make an espresso and heard the noise my machine was making looked at me in horror!!! She knew this wasn’t right… So this morning, my 3rd time repaired EC885 stopped working AGAIN!!! So now my machine is out of warranty and the only part that has an extended warranty is the new portafilter they gave me the third time it was sent off for repair and I know that the problem is more than that so I am out of luck. It is only 4 months since it was returned to me and it is not working again… I am not even going to bother calling as unfortunately, dealing with after sales service with DēLonghi is a lost cause and I am simply not emotionally up to the stress of even trying… I will go back to my little stove top moka pot which I used when my espresso machine had been sent in 3 different times for repair and found I quite liked its simplicity… So in conclusion, buying from DēLonghi is a numbers game – if you get a machine that develops no faults, you should be okay, but if you get a machine that develops faults, even the 3 year warranty is no guarantee so buyer beware…. (N.B. I had two DēLonghi espresso machines and both developed faults)

Good espressos and milk frothing.
I have had the Dedica Style for a week now and I am very impressed. I have been using it to make espressos, cortados, cappuccinos and americanos. All have been excellent. I would say that the instructions which come with the machine are pretty poor, you can probably get better instructions where the machine is listed on the Amazon website. I would also recommend looking at videos on youtube that describe the milk frothing process - it will definitely help you use this machine to greater effect. After watching some my technique definitely improved. My only problem is that I haven't been sleeping that well because I have been drinking so many cortados! - my go to when it comes to coffee. I would also recommend getting a couple of barista jugs in different sizes so that you can do single or two cups, this also saves on the milk. The machine looks well on the kitchen worktop and I have not had any issues with things breaking. Filling with water is very easy and cleaning after use is quite simple and only takes a few seconds. The first time I used it the frother did come off in my hand, but that was because I used a twisting motion when wiping it down and that is how you remove it to clean it properly! It took me a short while getting it back on because I hadn't taken note of its orientation before it came off. I would recommend you practice removing it first so that you see how it sits and how it comes off before it does so without you knowing what happened. Noise level is not obtrusive. Anyway, if you are using the frother correctly there should be a high pitched noise from it at the start of the process - again check out videos on youtube. Water capacity is good - I only need to refill after a couple of days, although, as I have said previously, I mostly make cortados so I am only making 'one shot' each time. If you want to use full size mugs/cups with it you will have to remove the drip tray, but it comes off easily. I was a bit concerned when I ordered the machine due to a few poor reviews but, going by my own experience, I would have no hesitation in recommending it.

Amazing little coffee maker
I was in the market for a coffee maker, either double expresso or one single cup. Nothing big but when this arrived it's so compact and it takes very little space but you get absolutely top-quality coffee bar coffees. I know it's all about which coffee you purchase. I buy the Japanese number 5 strengths and that makes amazing espressos. It's just as good as what you get in a coffee bar and when you think how much coffee is nowadays, it's definitely worth the money to get it. The quality of it, everything, the tamper, the filter head, it's all like proper professional gear. I can't fault it. Well done DeLonghi.

Excellent all round little coffee machine.
Great little coffee machine. Can make a beautiful cup of coffee very easily and quickly. Have owned a more expensive breville machine but this is a clear winner. Many Pros, programmable, ie.,water temp, water hardness, the amount of coffee dispensed, standby time, auto descaling, small footprint, great foolproof milk frother, quick warm-up time (about 40 seconds). Really no Cons at this stage. Very happy with my purchase,at a great price.
