Well worth the wait.I bought an alternative which was half the price, yet was flimsy in comparison. I have quite a wide doorway 144cm at the narrowest, 146cm higher up. This has a max of 144, however it did very well. I bought some wall stoppers elsewhere which were quite thick in comparison to the supplied ones but were sufficient at giving me the extra 2cm in width. The metal bar at the bottom provides the additional stability the other gate lacked, so no bowing or wobble detected at all. The gate is hard to open, I find it stiff, so babies and dogs don't stand a chance. My only concern is the closing mechanism is mostly plastic and due to the tension is very stiff. I suspect it will be the first thing to fail if anything does fail.Overall, a great gate for wider spaces.

This is a great product. I struggled looking at the written instructions but having followed the video it was easy and easy to add an extender. I am impressed with the pressure pads and although I bought wall protectors I haven’t used them. It is sturdy even for my 6 month old puppy and works well at keeping him out of the kitchen. The black looks good in the kitchen / diner.

I never though I’d have need for a baby gate, but acquiring an 8-week old Border Collie puppy soon changed that opinion. It took only 24 hours to realise that she was a master escape artist and that we’d need to rethink our strategy for restricting access to areas of our home.As I’d never had experience of baby gates before I was a little overwhelmed by the number of products available on Amazon, but a bit of sifting through the reviews landed me on the pages of various Baby Dan products. I had a few challenges in finding the right sizes as our house is a 1930’s structure built by someone with scant regard for standard sizes of door openings and stairwells. Most baby gates seem to fit within the 760-950mm range, which was frustrating as our doors are 740mm wide and the stairwell 1020mm. My search was therefore narrowed significantly down to basically this product. As standard this offers a narrower fit than most products, however I chose the option with the additional extension pieces allowing me to fit it anywhere in the house.The product is very sturdy and appears well made. I’ve installed it at the bottom of our stairs using all of the extension pieces included within the kit. It came with two instruction sheets, and I have to say that neither were particularly clear. I’m a flat-packed master but even I had to take a step back for a moment to figure things out. Even now I’ve got a couple of pieces left over that I’ve got no idea of their purpose. That said, once in place the gate feels very secure and has so far stopped our little Houdini getting upstairs.The operation of the gate requires a button press while simultaneously raising a handle to unlock the gate. Once unlocked you lift the gate up a fraction which raises it over the base bar and allows you to swing it open in either direction. As we’re using it for a dog, we don’t bother using the locking mechanism as it is a bit of a faff, but not too bad. At the end of the day it’s about security and it does the job well.Along with the gates I also purchased some wall protectors separately. Although this product does come with some, they are quite small so don’t spread the force over much greater area than the fixings so if you’re keen on protecting your walls/door frames I would recommend paying a little more.On the whole though it’s a very good product and the greater range of fitting width is excellent.

I bought this as I have the park-a-kid already and needed some stair gates for my 8 month old. The main reason to buy this one was the fact it is both adjustable and pressure mounted, meaning crucially that it can be used in a hallway with tall skirting boards and wonky walls as each fixing point can be adjusted and doesn’t need to be the same length... and no screws/DIY are required!The base bar is thin and I’m not worried I’ll trip over it. I like that it’s not auto closing so I can leave it open when the baby is not around, less annoying in the evenings!I also found like other reviewers that it will go slightly bigger than the description, my walls are 73 at the bottom and 76 at the top and this was fine with a few cm or two more I could have safely used it for at the top.Also... it fixes at 4 points vs the cheaper BabyDan one that’s for sale on amazon as a 2 pack which only fixes at 3 points so less sturdy... depends where you plan to use it I guess as to what you buy.Quality is great, the instructions were quite daunting at first but only because it included how to do extensions so just ignore this section!Made the mistake of using against a stud wall first and put a hole through it. This really does need a proper wall, or door frame to brace against.The handle is quite stiff but I can see from other reviews that this will soften with use hopefully.Would recommend! ❤️
