Is this a good kit for a drummer who doesn't have room for a real drum set at home, or is it best for learners/beginners?

Only suitable for beginners also the stand does not fit it won’t sit securely on it.

I brought it for my 11 yr old as he was starting drum lesson at secondary school. He loves it as does his 9yr old brother.

Realistic drum and cymbal sounds but this is really a rhythm box for drum practise. There is over 80 rhythms to copy, , but not complete backing tunes. I have found this item very good for the price.

"are the pads velocity sensitive, as in can you drum lightly and it will produce a softer sound?

they have as far as i can tell 4 levels of velocity sensitivity.
