Murphy's Oil Soap Liquid Wood Cleaner, 32 Ounce

I cannot recommend this product enough. I heard about it over a year ago and it has been on my wish list since. I didn’t buy it though; I have fallen for a many a good sounding product which failed to live up to its promise before and indeed have the cluttered cupboards of expensive but useless jars and bottle. I placed it in my ‘save for later’ and held back. I am an artist who uses mainly acrylic paint and the occasional brush drying out when I forget to clean it off soon enough or just forget about is just one of those annoying things which happens fairly regularly. I get called away and when I return the brush is now more like a decorative stick. I watched as my pile of these dried-up brushes grew and made a quick estimate of how much money I had wasted on these brushes which were now useless convinced me to try the wood oil soap. I got an empty and clean coffee jar and put in a couple of inches of the oil and placed the brushes head down into it and waited. The next day the brushes had lost the stick like firmness. I waited for the few days soak that the video recommended, after all I had waited over a year by then. After cleaning the wood oil from them, they are back in my brush rack to use again. All of them are once again brushes, soft bristles, clean and if not like new, better than I could have hoped for. All given a new life again and ready to use. This stuff is amazing, and my brushes were SOOO dry! The bottle is large, much bigger than I thought it would be. As the phot the bottle looked like a washing up liquid bottle, I thought it would be the same size and was happy to see I was wrong and it was much bigger so, I have many hundreds of brushes treatment ready to use for my future brush abuse habit. Also, another point well worth mentioning is that the ingredients are all natural, no harsh chemical, awful smells or dangerous solvents. I think it is an essential for every painter and wish I had tried it years before and still had the lost brushes from back then to use again too.

Product came well packaged & lid sealed. Has a lovely subtle smell. Cleans kitchen cupboards well and removes all dirt buildup around door handles. Have also used this to wash down the feet area of the leather sofa and it came up well leaving no marks or damage to leather. Very happy with the product. for stubborn marks I used neat (wood). Very easy to use. Dries well and leaves a nice shine to it.

This does work, give it time.i am still expiramenting with it.

I don't use this product for cleaning my floors. However it is brilliant at getting paint out of brushes and clothes! Even dried on paint. Brushes that have gone hard with dried acrylic paint are no match for this amazing solution. I cleaned a solid painting brush two days ago and now it's back to normal. I use it on my grandchildren's clothes when they've got paint splatters on them and even my husband's pink shirt that he had got black paint on his sleeve. It's brilliant value for money, easy to use and has a pleasant fresh smell!

Works well at cleaning dirty pine floorboards but you need all the windows open as the citronella oil fumes are suffocating. Pets in house may suffer if applying indoors as citronella oil is so overwhelming .... please be aware this oil is not good for cats or dogs !

Nice gentle smell, almost an orange peel fragrance. So here’s the truth. If you have natural wood floors with a grain or a contoured laminate floor, you need to scrub the floor first with bristles to remove any ingrained dirt from the grains within the wood. There’s no getting away with this. I used my vac carpet shampooer which has rotating brushes and did the job perfectly. I’m not suggesting you try this if you have one. I’m saying it worked brilliantly on my solid oak floor. You might have to use a scrubbing brush that has a long handle. Use Murphy to complete this step. Once scrubbed, clean with Murphy and a soft mop using hot water. (Not boiling) Use half an American cup which is 3 fluid ounces in the UK. Following that process the floors should be lightly mopped with Murphy every 2/3 days to stop any build up of dirt within the wood grain. Leaves a nice smell and the floors look clean but not particularly shiny. Don’t overdo the Murphy liquid as it will leave a visible sticky residue and doesn’t make the floor any cleaner.

I have used Murphys Oil for years and year. Safe,gentle clean and I have used it on my hardwood floors through out my home. It take only a small bit in your water to clean safely and thoroughly. I use it for all cleaning and its an effective,non streaking product It came in two days and I will buy again. Lately I have had problems getting it in my local stores. Amazon to the rescue

I’ve tried everything else 1 million times just because I like the smell of something but nothing cleans my hardwood like Murphy’s. I have hardwood through almost all of my home. My bathroom floor is tile both upstairs and downstairs, but other than that, the rest of my house is hardwood. Cleans it nourishes it. You only need a little bit. I even like to dust my furniture with just a little bit dipped in hot water. Wipe it all down. I wash my carving boards with it my wooden window seat, window frames antique frames it makes everything shine.
