versatile & powerful enough for most work
would have liked a socket for remote pedal or switch amp control, but for the price a great 3in1

Excellent welder
I'm an amateur welder, fixing stuff for friends and family. A professional would probably need something more substantial. This is lightweight, easy to use and has done a great job on metal fron 0.5 to 5mm.I saw it recommended by several people on a mig welding forum so thought I'd try it when my previous welder died. I'm glad I did.

Good for the price!
When I first got the welder I noticed that the lid was not easy to shut I then realized that the screw holding on the handle, at the back, was protruding enough to hit the spool, once I cut off the surplus it shut just fine. I've used stick welders for a number of years, and I was interested to see the difference between the two. Firstly I would say the this MIG burns with a higher intensity producing a brighter arc and also a considerable amount of spatter. If you look at the photo you can see the top four beads of weld, ran on full power at a feed of about 6. The bottom four beads run on No.2 power, feed about 6 again. The beads are not a pro's "stack of dimes", but not bad for a MIG beginner. If you are going to use this for something "on show" like gates, then you'll need some cans of "anti spatter" spray or you'll do one job and creating another. The seller said that the machine couldn't use a 1kg spool, however i tried a 1kg spool without any problems. The good point about the MIG is that it is very good at "tacking" as the arc strikes every time and it is easy to get a spot of weld just in the right place. However a stick welder for me has less spatter, and the power is easier to control, to get it just right. Whatever you do, get yourself a helmet, doing circus tricks holding up a shield in one hand while trying to weld with the other, is a handicap that no amateur needs, they have the electronic ones at great prices on Amazon, so be good to yourself and protect your eyes, while using that other hand for support.

Great welder for the price
The instructions are shockingly rubbish. The wire supplied was not great. However for the price point it’s a great welder with 4 power settings 1 &2 as well as hi/low. So you can have low 1 high 1 low 2?high 2 why am I telling you this? simple it’s not in the manual also it has wire speed so the higher the power the faster your speed. I’m learning to weld so I’ve welded 8 mm bars together along its length and 2mm plate and also around an exhaust pipe finding the right settings is key . And replace the wire that comes with it for a better brand. My bro in law who can weld had a go and loved it he said for the price its impressive

Great little welder.
I had a Sealey MightyMig100 previously, and this is just as good, if not better, and it's cheaper. Well boxed, but had some residue inside that marked the welding cable. Doesn't affect how it works, and for the price, I can't grumble. I'm welding 3mm and 4mm angle and flat bar with no problems. Good amount of wire included. There is no way I would trust the cheap flimsy welding mask, so save your eyes and buy a proper auto mask on here for about twenty quid, and get some welding gloves. There is a welding brush in the box too, but again, its crap. Chuck away the cheap add on's and use the great cheap welder! Would be good for car bodywork if that's what you are looking for, just do a line of tacks on thin sheet metal.

it was easy to use and did what I purchased it for
I used machine today for the first time, it was easy to use and did what I purchased it for. I have had an expensive welder in the past and this worked just as well. The wire feed was ok, it did not slip, the reel of wire did not birds nest, with a bit more practice I think I will be good at it, it is forgiving and compensated for my lack of skill. The wire loads in the top, much easier than the side, I think it is a very good DIY welder I am sure in experienced hands you could do a good job.

A great welder for the price.
A really good welder for the price. As others have said the supplied mask is cheap but the machine itself works greatI was welding up 6mm and 8mm mild steel plate and found it worked best on maximum 2 with a line speed of about 4-5If your going to weld thinner plate just reduce the power .
