Great product easy set up!
Exceptionally happy with the product! It works great, does require an ethernet connection but really helps spread the signal across the house!

Best booster that I have used
The range of each disc is no more than OK - not brilliant. Walls are are real problem and the maximum signal distance I can get is 8 metres with the signal passing through one plasterboard wall. It is less with a brick wall. I had to buy 4 discs to get coverage of my bungalow. Once they are working they are excellent. No drop-outs and the speed loss is minimal. A vast improvement on the old dLAN system which uses the ring main. My upload speed with that was so slow that my Hive outdoor camera would not work. Now with the BT whole home it is excellent. Recommended.

A great addition to your router
I have four of these to provide a good signal to security cameras in the garden. Work well, once set up, which is easy using the app. The only issue is that you can only attach, I think, four of them within the app, which is a nuisance. Otherwise - recommended.

Very Impressive
Bought this to extend the 3 disc system I already have. It was fairly seamless to add this one and our coverage is now fantastic. A couple of things to know - the single disc add-on pack provides a disc that's waiting to be "paired" with others, so that makes it easy. If you bought say a 2 disc pack to use as add-ons it might be less straightforward as they'd be paired to each other (I think). Also, you need to use the app to do the job and at first I couldn't get it to speak to the discs. The problem was the firmware - you really need to make sure you have the latest version of the app AND that your existing discs are updated to the latest firmware - which is easy to do. If you have done that it will all work fine.

Don't believe the BT Whole Home 3-year warranty when a problem arises. A tale of pillar to post.
These BT discs work very well and I have 5 in total and they all have a 3 year warranty However one which is a little over 2 years old has a problem - the admin password is not recognised. This means that I can't rename the disc, adjust its luminance or set it up for guest usage. It still works but I have no control over it. In the first instance I called BT who agreed with me and sent me a fault number with the assurance that the disc would be replaced. BT got back to me saying that it was up to Amazon as I bought it from them. Amazon denied the warranty clearly stated on their web site and even said it only carried a six month warranty. The transcript of this 'Chat' in which 4 different advisers were involved is just ridiculous. The answers are both confused and confusing eg. "That's not an explanation. Will you please give me an explanation why on your website it states 3-year warranty or not? 16:10 Ailene | Customer Service I'm afraid this is a Amazob (sic) I'm afraid this is Amazon's policy. We don't have the option to send you a link because we do have this internally. A 16:15 I don't understand what you've just said. What I do understand is that you are unable or unprepared to explain why on Amazon's website it states a 3-year warranty and you insist on telling me that it's two years. I will therefore have to pursue this through other means. 16:19 Ailene | Customer Service 3 years is for manufacturer's warranty. And we cover this item under Amazon warranty within 6 months. And for above 20 GBP we cover it for 2 years. Have you tried to contact the manufacturer now? So this is where I am with it. Today I have taken legal advice and will pursue. On the advice of WHICH? Legal I wrote to Amazon UK CEO and within the week a replacement was sent out to me. Amazon said there were errors on their website but to my knowledge have changed nothing to date.

Easy to set up Disc 4 as long as you have a 2nd modem port
i bought a 4th disc to improve wifi upstairs. adding it was straightforward enough as long as your as your modem has at least 2 ethernet cables - 1 for the original 1st disc (do not remove), and a 2nd for the new additional disc which needs it only temporarily to set up and clone the settings automatically. Note to Virgin Superhub users. If you have previously put your router into Modem Mode, then only one of your 4 ethernet ports are working so this could cause a problem with the routine described and you might need to start again with the original set up back in normal router mode. Luckily for me, I left mine in router mode when setting up originally, and just turned off its own wifi signals in the settings once I had set up my new BT wifi. Once the 4th disc has set itself up automatically through the ethernet cable, you can remove it from the router and take it to wherever you want it, using the app to test the signal first. Mine has made the signal stronger upstairs so a worthwhile addition. Hope this is helpful.

Probably Best to buy New
This reviews two purchases, one bought ‘new’ some years ago, and one bought ‘used’ and just returned for a refund. My family has three whole home networks, separated geographically, with a total of nine of these disks - so I’m not a novice in setting them up. If an additional disk is working, as the new one was, the process for setup and synchronisation works fairly easily. If it doesn’t work properly the process is very time consuming, frustrating and ultimately futile. The problem with the latter disk is not obvious at the start - it does switch on, it is identified by the app, or the alternative bt website, but once disconnected from its RS232 link its settings repeatedly return to its original ones and the light goes red (no internet). Factory resets and powering down did not help. Tried it on two totally separate networks, miles apart - same result. Pleasantly, and a little surprisingly, the BT helpdesk (contacted by email) tried very hard to help. They made three suggestions over a two day period, all very sensible, and in the end that exercise persuaded me that the used unit simply wouldn’t synchronise. It will work as a single wifi transmitter if connected permanently to a router, but that is not really the purpose of an additional disk. Returned reluctantly for a refund. The moral ? For kit like this, buy new.

Read the instructions!
Having read several reviews before purchasing, I understood the importance of reading the instructions before starting the installation routine. If you do that, the installation works pretty smoothly. If not, you will likely find it to be problematic. Having set up the new disc on the kitchen windowsill I now have good wifi signal to my "super shed" in the garden, about 15 metres away. The old hard-wired ethernet connection (which had become intermittent) is redundant. All we need now is full-fibre to the house, to overcome the flaky copper wire that handles the last half mile or so from the box in the village. Not cheap but a worthwhile upgrade.
