Fluke Networks 26000900 Pro3000 Tone Generator and Probe Kit

I can't live without mine. The change of tone when a short has been detected really is a feature I couldn't live without and I've not seen on other brands. The new version has rubber gloves for the crocodile clips whitch is handy to stop them shorting out on each other when left dangling from a cable. The LED also goes yellow when the battery is low.The original version was the best but the new improved version has really evolved the product to untouchable.For those installing speakers it carries enough voltage to stimulate sound from any speakers connected to the cable being belled out. Usfull when trying to reconcile speakers to cables.I have tried many other non-fluke versions but none come close. Built to last whilst others fall apart or become temprimental.I have also tried the more expensive yellow version that includes net work cable tester but found it complicated and the extra features confusing. Ignoring the cable testing function this blue one is the go to unit. If this had a network cable testing function it would be perfection.

Great little gadget with fast and surprisingly polite delivery driver for a change now why can they all be like that ? nevertheless we'll done Amazon.

Not cheap but works well, I've used cheaper alternatives but they were a waste of money. I would have given five stars but the operating button on the probe has to be held in which can make some jobs tricky.

This tool got me out of a need in a haystack situation with our fire suppression system "Protector Wire" in about 5 hours. We have 10's of 1,000's of feet of wire on our sprinkler systems and we had a ground fault in our freezer racks. Anyone familiar with these systems will understand how daunting this was. This tool will not tell you where a ground fault is occurring but it will tell you exactly where the wire runs. This just leaves the matter of breaking the circuit in the middle and checking to see if the fault clears or not. Then, break it in the middle of the side with the fault again until you get it nailed down. Our system has plenty of splices from previous repairs that let me quickly eliminate most of the enormous system. I was able to pick up the signal loud and clear, even several thousand feet of wire away from the source. This tool instantly made me a professional. I now honestly look forward to the Protecto Wire problems. Thank you Fluke. I did not receive any sort of compensation or discount associated with this tool.
