Yes it does. But you need to convert quantities as its done per 10kg of meat. It makes the best biltong ever!

Q: Does the spice have an expiry date?

I cannot be absolutely sure, but my guess is that dried spices last a very long time. I have this mixed spice in my cupboard and have been using the same batch for several years to make biltong, but mixed with other stuff as the Freddy Hirsch recipe is a bit too salty for my liking.

Q: Is the spice meant to be white/pale? My usual space is much darker.

Not that I am aware of it mine was a dark blend of spice

Q: What vinegar do you guys use? In uk so what would you recomend off the shelf in Tesco?

Try this: 80% balsamic vinegar to 20% Worcester sauce, this mix has produced nothing but positive comments from people that have eaten my tong.
