Good for cutting wire insulation
It's an interesting blade. These are sharp. Sharp enough to accidentally cut skin, but less so than other metal knife cutters I have.I tried these to cut the insulation off wire and found I could hold and cut the insulation but not cut my skin. This is something I wouldn't dare do with a regular knife blade. These also didn't seem to knick the copper wires under the insulation. Both being able to hold the wire, and not cut the copper is really handy though for how I tend to work. They seem to cut cardboard and tape just fine. And they would be safer than a metal box cutter. Tape doesn't seem to stick to the ceramic blade as much.I'll still be careful with these, but they fit a niche between extremely sharp and sharp enough to do the job.An extra blade is included and it can be stored in the handle by pulling off the butt-end, and pushing it under the installed blade. I expect that ceramic last much longer than metal blades, but time will tell.

Who knew a box cutter could be exciting?
The normal plastic handle box cutter is inexpensive. simple and straight-forward. I go through 2 or 3 a year because the plastic handles are always breaking. You will not have to worry about that with this box cutter. The handle is robust, made of thick gage flexible plastic that should take years of abuse. What is most interesting is the ceramic blade. The blade is made to the same size as the normal 18mm steel blades so you can use them interchangeably, but the ceramic blade will not rust and seems more resistant to gumming up. Also the blade will not get dull due to corrosion. It is very sharp and cuts through cardboard easily. It does not have the ability to break off the tip like a steel blade so you can't get a "new" tip; the blade is one continuous blade. On the other hand, that means the blade won't accidentally break at the "snap-off" indentation.Time will tell if this is a more economical blade or not but for now this ceramic blade seems to a worthwhile experiment.

just ok
The build quality of the knife is average. Feels like cheaper plastic was used to build it. The blade is ceramic so it is not as sharp, but sharp enough to cut through cardboard and tape. The blade does move around when putting a lot of pressure on it so that might be a design flaw. Overall a 3/5 with it being useable for certain scenarios but also dangerous to use in others.

Great utility knife, but not finger safe...
This is a genuine ceramic blade utility knife, the blade won't rust and should stay sharp for quite a long time. However, I would not call it finger safe. The blade is razor sharp and will cut if you slip. This is unlike some other brands that use rounded, blunt blades. The downside is it can cut you just like a steel blade, the upside is it can cut better than those others which are really meant for cutting packing tape. This blade cuts thick cardboard without issue. The handle is well built, if a little large. The kit includes the handle and two blades. Do note this is not a snap-blade knife. Although you may be able to snap the blade (carefully) it really is not designed for that. Blade changes are easy, just pop off the tailcap and slide the blade and blade holder out, swap the new blade on, and place back in the handle. The knife does not have onboard spare blade storage.

Flimsy blade snapped easily
I originally wanted to give this a higher rating, since it felt good and was cutting okay, although the blade felt wobbly. However, on about the 5th box I opened with this knife, part of the blade just snapped off! Unfortunately this means it's not going to be a very useful knife, so I'll probably just stick to metal knives which don't usually have this problem.

Sleek and simple box cutter, lacks blade lock feature
I'm no box cutter aficionado. I have never replaced the blade on one of these before. But that is because the box cutters always belonged to someone else and I wasn't going to mess with their stuff. Now this is my own personal box cutter and I figured I should know how to do this, especially since this one came with a replacement blade and I didn't see an immediately obvious mechanism. After looking up how to do this online, I pulled off the bottom piece on the cutter and this easily allowed the blade to slip out. The piece was easy enough to remove, and also pretty easy to snap back on, and it didn't feel like there would be any issues with looseness later on. It's quite solid. The only reason I've taken one star off is that I have a concern with the lack of a blade-lock feature on the slide. Other box cutters I've used have a blade lock that enables you to, well, lock the blade into one position so it won't have any danger of getting pushed down into its sheath as you cut on something tough. It would also enable you to lock it in place when it was sheathed so there was no danger of the blade coming out when you weren't expecting it. This cutter doesn't have that feature, and while it hasn't been an issue yet, it does give me a small amount of concern. I am always careful around blades and I certainly wouldn't complain about having an extra safety feature. The blade was sharp and cut through a box easily. I like the feel of it in my hand and it does the job I need it to do. I'm also happy it comes with an extra blade, as I mentioned earlier. The white ceramic blade design is attractive and has a minimalist appeal with the simple brand logo printed in white on the back of the dark gray cutter casing. Functionally, this has worked well so far.

Great shape ceramic utility knife
The media could not be loaded. This utility knife is very well made. The body is made of metal and feels very sturdy, unlike some other products that are wobbly. The ceramic blade is very sharp. it cuts through the thick plastic with ease. It says it won't cut the finger. It didn't cut when I touch it gently but I wouldn't try to slide the blade over my finger or press hard on it. I am sure it will hurt and break the skin. But then why would anyone want to do that!?This is a great product that I would recommend. BTW, it also comes with a spare blade in the package.
