Pentel Arts Pocket Brush Pen, Includes 2 Black Ink Refills (GFKP3BPA)

Brilliant. I love it. A little hard to use for precise lines but you can get very thin and thick lines. Great flow. I've tried a few different ones and that's the best in this category. Great size too. Gives a bit of a caricature look to drawings.

This pen is recommended by Martin Lochmair, and artist off YouTube. Seemed like a good thing to purchase. It works OK with the refil in place and you hold it vertically, but take some time for the ink to get to the tip of the bristles. We will see how long it lasts before I need to change the refil and then, where do I get refils from is the next question. I've not researched that yet nor how much they cost. So far, I am pleased and will use it on my next artwork involving pen and ink.

I'm relatively new to drawing with brush pens and this one is pretty good, I prefer a different brand over this but it's worth a buy. Easy to load ink into it not sure why some people seem to have issues with this?

This pen comes empty you have to put a refill in immediately. It's not like buying a pen from Tesco lol. This pen came with 4 refills (nice) others (same brand) only come with 2 for the same price so make sure you check. The pen gives lines of different thickness depending on pressure and angle so it's quite versatile. It doesn't bleed through decent paper, even very thin paper there's not much to see. Lots of fun mark making, looking forward to using this a lot. I haven't noticed any spray or blots and it works nicely over my coloured alcohol markers. It's lovely for just doodling or serious work, smooth and easy to use.

I love the quality and variety of lines you can create with this pen. Really beautiful. I use it for quick sketches too as you can put down alot of ink with it very quickly. Also very delicate marks with the very tip. Good gear says I.

You know you are going to get a good pen from Pentel and that’s exactly what you get. Perfect for fine to thick lines. This is a very soft brush pen which if you have a heavy touch may be hard to get fine detail. If however you can draw with a light tough you can get very fine to very thick lines easily.

It is my first ink brush pen, and I am already in love with it. Very easy to set up, it takes a few minutes for the ink to cover the brush pen and be ready to go. It goes very very easily, you need to be careful with shaky hands and quick strokes. The ink flows perfectly, covering all need in one stroke. Perfect for a new starter, you can do very thin lines or big ones. Easy to keep clean too.

Would buy it again when the refills run out of ink.

The Pentel Pocket Brush Pen is an outstanding piece of art-making equipment. Up until I received this pen, I mainly stuck with using a standard rolling-ball pen for my ink work (I'm not very traditional and don't use a pen and an ink well very often). After having used this pen for a few days, I can say that I shall not be returning to my original standard much more. This brush pen allows for a large variety of mark making. A variety that can be increased even more by using paper with different textures. The ink flows freely and easily. As of yet, I've had no problems with leakage of any sort, which makes it pretty portable from my point of view. One thing about this package, I should warn, is that the title misled me. With this "Pentel Arts Pocket Brush Pen with Refills, 1 Pen and 2 Refills" you are getting the one pen and two cartridges. There isn't one already in the pen which means you're going to use one of your "refills" immediately. And if you draw a lot, pick up a pack of refills to go along with it. Also, once you install the ink, give the ink a minute or two to flow into the bristles. It won't work right away, so be patient. My inspiration for getting this pen is from viewing the artwork of Yoji Shinkawa (Metal Gear Solid, Zone of the Enders). I really admired the varied strokes, line quality, and the confidence behind them. After having read an interview conducted with him, he highly recommended this pen. Hopefully, in a year or two, the bristles will wear out a bit and my line work will vary even more (I like a crappy brush, makes for some really characteristic line work). -Bottom line- If you're looking for a pen to help you build confidence in your line work (use that white out for highlights ;) ) while giving you a seemingly infinite variety of marks to make, this pen is for you. This is an excellent pen and this reviewer highly recommends it.

Zwei Ersatzminen dabei. Die Tinte ist tiefschwarz und wasserfest. Für Illustratoren und Sketch-Fans unverzichtbar. Klein genug für die Jacke, gut genug für ernsthafte Arbeit.

Love this pen! Glides like a dream and the ink dries a gorgeous jet black. Amazing for line art, shadow fills, wispy effects, really anything. Dries within a few seconds and doesn't smudge (I tried really hard to test this in 5 second intervals and smooshed it with my hand, cloths, coloured pens, and it held fast). Wish I had this years ago when I used to fill everything in with sharpies (whew, that Sharpie smell after an hour haha). Good for serious work and playing around. If you're thinking about getting this pen, just get it. The quality for the price, you can't go wrong.

If you're an illustrator or practice calligraphy, then you may really like this pen. It's portable - it has a cap to help prevent leaks in between uses, it's refillable - uses a replaceable ink cartridge, and best of all, this pen comes wrapped in beautiful Japanese patterns.
