ANNKE CCTV Surveillance DVR 8 Channel 3K Lite Security Video Recorder

Great DVR! Replacing an older unit by another brand which had failed. Our existing cameras plugged straight in and setting up was easy except one thing - the default HDMI output signal a resolution not compatible with our older “hd ready” tv. It took a bit of effort to fix this - managed to get the unit working on another tv in the house, then changed the HDMI signal output resolution via the on screen menu, then plugged it back into the older TV. A fist pump moment when the signal came through! Setting up was easy, given all network and camera connections were already in place. I purchased a separate hard drive to use with the Annke for the brands rated reliability for dvr’s (WD Purple HDD) - as was not sure which brand came pre-installed and hard drive reliability is a concern after 2 had failed over the years on the old machine. Installing the HDD is easy - just needed a screwdriver. Once the easy menu set up was completed, the quality of the recording, plus the feature of selecting “camera zones” for motion detection (fantastic feature), were all above expectation! The whole family commented on the recording clarity (especially compared to the previous unit). The app is really easy too and worth it alone for peace of mind when away from home. Telling all family and friends about this machine - it’s worth every penny.

This system has given me several years of reliable performance and was easily configured and deployed in my home. Recently I noticed that the system was no longer recording, which after initial checks, I could see that the disk drive was not visible! Further investigation proved the disk to be fine and that it was the power supply at fault, which was disguised by the fact that the same power supply was capable of powering the system! I emailed customer service and was immediately replied to with the offer of a replacement psu, despite being just out of warranty. This is absolutely why this company will get my appreciation and recommendation, as this no quibble customer service is often a rare commodity and the very reason why buying these products from reputable sources, fills me with confidence and satisfaction. Excellent service thank you!

I’ve been using this product for a couple of years now and it’s been fairly reliable with just a few glitches on one of the cameras. The biggest issue I have is with the app. It’s just nowhere near as good to use as my previous Cobra system. The Smart Eyes Pro app was brilliant and so easy to use where as the Annke app can be very frustrating when trying to fast forward

kit is just adequate but still do not understand why provide such a big case for tiny circuit board and hard drive (in my view actual size of the unit can be halved). Software and Xmeye app is just useless (Xmeye crashes in Android and lack features). Then again what you pay is what you get. User manual is poorly written / translated from Chinese. Surely Sannce can afford a decent Chinese to English translator if you want to sell the product internationally? Else the kit works but I think the software interface can be vastly improved. Also firmware upgrade is not available on the Sannce website.?

Quiet and easy to set up, Annke vision app is very convenient to see cameras and the quality is good.

I spend much time away from home so CCTV provides a sense of security so when I finally decided to buy a more comprehensive system this package ticked all the boxes. I bought the SANNCE DVR with optional Hard drive, PTZ Camera and the luxury PTZ controller keyboard/joystick. (I say luxury because you can operate the camera from the DVR - If you have several PTZ cameras then the joystick is an advantage - Most of my cameras are static and can be linked easily to the DVR) Yes it does take some setting up and I'm a software engineer! The instructions as pointed out by another user are limited. However there are many on-line guides. My conclusion: I think it's an awesome bit of kit for the money, it easily connected to the internet allowing me to view four cameras by remote and that is fantastic - (See attached image) I did have a minor software issue and the Chinese IT support were very helpful. (You do need to be patient baring in mind the time difference and not to colourful in your description) 10/10 Superb!!!

Could have been great but for fatal feature. Set up time/date OK BUT when in live view or recorded screen the month and day are reversed, i.e you set dd/mm/yyyy and it reads mm/dd/yyyy. Put that in evidence and your case fails immediately. Any known inaccuracy in a device renders its credibility as zero. Wow- could not even return it. Will not go into detail but refund given and no return required. My old system is still working so I got time to explore this one in more depth. It is sadly lacking. I refuse to buy something and then have to "sign up" online to use it so I used the two manufacturer Android apps allowing local control with zero success. Both complained of network time out and refused to work notwithstanding pings found the address perfectly AND it actually works in a Linux browser - all at the same IP address naturally. That said the controls have unacceptable delays between pressing them and getting a result. The only saving grace is that it can be used without Android apps. Just glad I ended up getting a refund as I would not have accepted it otherwise.
