Freqout amazing pedal
After waiting to see if this was discounted for Black Friday (it wasn’t) I thought twice about forking out for this, but I’m so glad I did. Within a few hours of using it I managed to create the melody including a hook, for most of the guitar parts on my next track. It would be difficult though, to reproduce it accurately playing live, unless I can find a way round that. There’s plenty of online reviews and tuts about this pedal, but I wanted to see what I could do with it, and am seriously impressed with its ability to create sustained controllable feedback. I bought this after using the Joyo version of EBow sustain device, and I’m looking forward to using it again - and again.

A superb feedback pedal. Get this thing and save your ears!
I'll keep it simple: this pedal is simply revolutionary. I consider myself to be very critical when evaluating pedals (I have quite a stack of them but primarily use my Boss GT-100 these days). Having seen numerous excellent reviews on YouTube I decided to bite the bullet and bought the FreqOut for the awesome price of £85 new from Amazon themselves. Putting it ahead of my GT-100 I was simply blown away by just how natural the feedback sounded. I recommend experimenting with the harmonic you are interested in activating as each really does have a noticeably different flavour. Getting the kind of feedback that Joe Satriani often favours for example is so easy yet sounds so utterly authentic. I love it! It's early days for me and the FreqOut but this thing is for life. I urge anyone with the slightest interest in this pedal to check out the many YouTube videos demonstrating how great it is. It's also worth mentioning that to achieve the results you get from this pedal would require considerable volume so do you ears a favour and give this pedal a go. Over and (Freq)out!

works incredibly well with a fully digital setup.

The best way to artificially create feedback without upsetting people in the next village.
This was bought on a whim, having seen a review by Andy at ProGuitarShop, but I am so pleased I did! There are occasions where a bit of feedback in a long sustained chord or note sounds gorgeous. As with everything, overuse can spoil things, but every now and then I like a smidge. It can add a sense of restrained (or unbridled) power to a song. Previously I either cranked up an amp (I have a VOX AC4 that does feedback beautifully) or I used a plugin called Acoustic Feedback, which didn't really do it for me and is now uninstalled. The trouble with cranking up an amp is that I can't do it whenever I want. I do have a modest dedicated studio, but it's still in my home, and my family are happiest when I am not summoning the spirit of Mick Ronson at 2am. That all changes with FreqOut. It's not absolutely perfect, but it's the best way I have found to date to introduce credible feedback into a recording. Not sure whether you would need to use it live as presumably you'd have the punch there to do it for real, but in a studio setting this is brilliant. I guess if it's a low volume gig it would be handy. Personally, I prefer to use the Momentary setting, rather than having it on the whole time, and I also keep the Dry setting on, so I get a mix of original signal and feedback. I have experimented with the Dry set to off and you can get some great ebow-like drones going, if that's your thing. For me, the most usable settings are to have Onset (when the feedback kicks in) at around 10 to 12 o'clock, Gain at around 10 o'clock and Type set to Nat Low or Nat High. Lovely harmonics. The other Type settings are also useful, I just prefer the Nat ones. Appearance-wise the pedal looks pretty good and appears rugged enough, certainly for studio use. True bypass is also a useful feature - I wish it was mandatory in pedals! One thing to watch out for is that it needs a 300mA power supply. I originally plugged it into a 100mA supply on my board and it took me a while to work out why the pedal appeared to be powering up, but wasn't doing anything. Silly mistake to make, but worth pointing out to anyone else struggling to get it to work and thinking it's broken! I would wholeheartedly recommend this pedal to anyone wanting to produce realistic, natural feedback in the studio, in the bedroom or at low volume gigs. It's yet another pedal from DigiTech that I am most likely to keep on my board, along with the excellent Polara (reverb), Obscura (delay) and Nautila (chorus/flange). I just noticed that it seems to have gone up rather a lot in price since I bought it. I paid £102 in January 2019, now it's £128.99 (Feb). Rather a steep increase and I might have thought twice about buying it on a whim at that price. I still recommend it, though, having now actually used it.

Fantastic pedal
This is a fantastic pedal. One which you probably didn't know you needed. It gives a very convincing digital effect that behaves just like acoustic feedback but you can control it and do so at reasonable volume levels. You will need to put it first in your pedal chain. Just one thing, though. It does not come with a power supply and you can't use batteries. The power requirements are bigger than most other pedals (this one takes 235mA) so you will need a fairly heavy duty power supply (say 500mA). Most normal pedal supplies are rated at 200mA so it is worth checking before you plug in one that you already have.

No amp? No crank? No problem!
Blown away by this pedal. Mostly recording direct into my Quantum interface, or even if I'm micd up to an amp, my location means I can't crank up the volume and get natural feedback, even if I could, controlling the pitch and tones is an art. The FreqOut does it all, and very well too. A must buy for guitarists of all genre, but rock and metal, its a real desire.

Feedback, not Sustain!!!
This is one of my key pedals to create a rockstar sounds in my gigs, its built with a pretty good design and it looks killer in my pedalboard. Reslly gresr if you know how to use it like a little detail in your playing, and you have to know that this is not a sustainer pedal, this is feedback pedal and this have a huge difference.

Pedalino spettacolare e divertentissimo
Ce n'è abbastanza da divertirsi all'infinito. Davvero bellissimo.
