CRAFTSMAN TRADESTACK Tool Box with Wheels, Waterproof, Stackable System, Port...

This is Craftsman's cheaper alternative to the Milwaukee Pack-Out System. I wanted a rolling tool box that I could lock. The first thing of note is that the clips on the sides of the handles break easily. I broke one on my car seat setting it in my car. I don't even know what the clip is for, but there it is. I was especially glad that it worked with my TradeStack bag. ( I think that's the name of the product line before Versa stack ). My bag clips onto the top and doesn't fall off when walking. I really like the quality of the release system. Two draw backs to this box. One is that, as it is plastic, the middle has a tendency to bulge or warp temporarily depending on what is inside it. This will cause the tray to not fit in the top and become loose. Any small items you want to keep separate, put them in a bag or small plastic box and toss the tray of you are wheeling around a lot of stuff. Secondly, and this shouldn't need to be said but it does, all this box does is keep honest people honest. I chain mine to something to keep someone from rolling it away. The hole for the lock is only big enough for a luggage lock. And the lock doesn't need to be broken. A good swing of a hammer would bust the locking area off. So if you are looking for ease of tool movement for a decent price, and you don't want someone grabbing your tools in the heat of the moment, this box will serve you well. If you are trying to secure your tools and have to worry about theft, go with a metal box.

Compared to Milwaukee: It costs 1/2 the price of but almost as good. Craftsman is making a comeback. Seems to be very durable. Latches are plastic but seem strong. Its a little smaller than the Milwaukee. It does in fact exceed Milwaukee with its release mechanism. The only con is that I wish the wheels were bigger/better. I've got four TRADESTACK items and think its a good value. Recommended.

My tool collection is a mess of bags and boxes I picked up just because I needed something right away with no thought of how they would store on my garage shelves or hold future tools. So even though this system is really expensive it's time I had an adult tool storage setup. The box and handle are built pretty tough and the locking system is easy to use, hope those small latches and things hold up to rough use. The one thing I wasn't sure of was whhere to get the adapter piece that allows tradestack and versastack parts to work together but there is one in the box. It works perfectly to attach the small part organizer from versastack.

Unboxed my Craftsman Tradestack rolling tool box today (or so I thought) and was surprised to see it instead said "Versastack XL" on it. I had heard that Craftsman was likely making a shift with those names but figured there was still quite a but of Tradestack inventory they had to move first, especially since the listing specifically listed it and pictured it in the photos as "Tradestack." Regarding the construction its exactly the same, and am actually quite pleased with the construction and the fact it arrived completely undamaged despite just being dropped bare in a significantly larger box than was needed and it had zero padding, paper, foam, or cushioning whatsoever. I actually have no idea how its not damaged because it easily had around 6-8" inches of nothing but air around all four sides which you would think would just act like a ping pong ball in shipping. The only small gripe is that because I was expecting it to say Tradestack, it doesn't match the pieces I currently have which say that on it, and now I have essentially a mix of Tradestack and Versastack XL boxes on top of each other which doesn't make my OCD all that stoked. Will probably see if I can maybe trade in one or the other at my local big box store that carries them so that I can have all matching boxes. Other than that its a very good value and looking forward to using it.

Coming from versastack, this is awesome. Bigger, stronger, thicker, and still comes with adapter plate for my versastack to fit on top. My shed roof leaks so I need waterproof cases and these are doing great.

Latches keep popping off, but works well to protect tools.

O produto é perfeito para quem quer um carrinho com caixa grande e vem com um adaptador para as caixas menores da linha VERSASTACK que também funciona para Dewalt Tstak e Stanley Prostack, mas precisa acompanhar os preços e pegar na hora certa. A logística por outro lado está bem precária, totalmente fora dos padrões da Amazon.
