Yes these are expensive, yes they are a fiddle to fit, but the difference they make is worth all of it. The ear cups on my 15 year old DT990Pro were crushed, yellow and generally nasty, and the drivers were showing through the foam pads. Time for a change. Follow the instructions in the little manual that comes with the ear cups. Try lifting the outer edge of the holding ring with a flat tool (as per the manual) but also get a finger under the inside to gently lift it out (it will pop out with a good click). Then be patient pulling the leather ring back into place. It needs more force than really feels good, but nothing breaks and the end result is tight and good. The transformation of comfort and sound is massive. If you have an old set of BD headphones you owe it to yourself to release their potential.

These are absolutely the correct replacement pads. Grey velour NOT leather, in fact the photo in the advert there is showing a completely different headphone which looks to be an AKG rather than Beyerdynamic. Anyway I ordered a replacement pair of earpads for purposes to be fit on my DT 990 Pro headphones and the items are identical to the pads the headphone came with. I repeat these are NOT leather, they ARE grey velour material. The same that the headphones come with. They are a bit fiddly to fit but just be careful where you hold them so as to not tear the velour stitching from the foam when you are folding the leather backs over the plastic lip that holds the earpads to the headphone. You have to be a bit firm when fitting these and give them a real good stretch hence the need for extremely careful grip otherwise you'll tear the stitching otherwise. Once they're fitted though, the headphones are good as new. Extremely comfortable and incredibly soft to the fingertip glide, almost fur-like. Expensive for what the item is, but it's worth it as no denying it's some quality material.

I previously purchased a cheaper alternative and soon regretted it when I noticed a massive negative effect on the sound performance.....save yourself any hassle and just get these...you pay a few pounds more but you get a genuine, comfortable , quality replacement that has no negative effect on the sound stage....very easy to fit in less than 2 mins and restores your headphones to that just of the shelf look and feel.....can not fault these at all.....

Ended up having to watch a YouTube video to get these on my DT990 Premiums, but after a bit of a fiddle about I worked it out. Now that they're on I'm very happy with my purchase! I couldn't believe how disgusting the old pair were in comparison and found a new pair of ear pads breathed new life into my old headphones. The sound went from kind of flat to much better overall, no doubt a result of the better seal that these provide compared to my old pair.

Wait for these to go on sale if you aren't desperate for new ear pads. These are great but just not worth what its at right now.

Perfect replacements, preserves original sound properly unlike third party replacements. Also very comfortable. Don't bother with any other ones, just buy official replacements.

My DT990's are 30 years old and a stunning set of headphones. I have replaced the perished headband and now replace the ear pads when they lose their firmness. Like all genuine parts they are always dearer than the equivalent cheap substitute but genuine parts for anything are actually better value in the long run. These are superb and really improve the headphones sound quality. Some suggest washing them to extend the life but they just become very soft and the sound quality changes. Depending on use you could expect to get a few years out of a new set of pads. Can be tricky to fit.

Just like original things, soft and comfortable, bit tricky to put them on the headphones.

Parfait pour mon DT 990 Pro, après 5 ans avec les anciens la différence est énorme. Je conseille à tout ceux qui ont leurs mousse d'origine aplatis et jaunis. Vidéo pour le remplacement trouvable facilement sur youtube

Coussinets d’origine qui durent bien des années malgré un usage intensif. Enfin une marque qui respecte ses clients en proposant des pièces détachées à un prix raisonnable.

Had about 2 years of high daily use of my old pads so they were starting to get flattened and thus sitting worse on the head was about time for a new pair. Switching to the new pads made the headset sit better on the head and it looks a lot better obviously! Only small negative: A little tricky to attach the new pads! but with some practice it was done.
