My new 'go-to' saw
I have become a devotee of pull-saws in recent years and I purchased several recently to try out. I use handsaws to cut up small branches and pallets for firewood so it has to be efficient and sharp (I gave up using traditional saws for this years ago as they require so much extra brute force than these thin bladed pull saws), and this saw is the best I have used so far. It takes hardly any effort to cut pallets; to give this some context, its friction was so low I could sometimes cut the wood when only holding it in place with a single finger! The blade is so thin that the kef is just tiny, so hardly any effort is wasted when cutting. The blade is a good width and length so that it will maintain a straight line through a deeper cut, unlike thinner blades that just lose their way and can jam. (I know this isn't what they are designed for in many cases but it made a real difference to me so its worth mentioning). The thing that I really like about this was the handle, as it allowed me to use about 5 different grips and sawing positions. If one position got tiring I could simply change to an overhand grip etc to give those muscles a rest, and I could attack these pallets from all sorts of different angles that a traditional saw/handle would prevent. Although other saws might be 'faster' in cutting these, they need so much extra effort to force their wider blades through the wood and I'm all about efficient cutting.I was expecting it to wear out fairly quickly but it is still going strong weeks later, and although I'll not be able to sharpen it I won't mind paying the price for a new one when required. If you were to use this for its real purpose (flush cutting etc) then the blade leaves a lovely clean edge and is flexible if you need to bend onto a flat surface to cut dowels or whatever. To sum it up I'm delighted with the saw and the manufacturer, and I'll be trying out some of their other products to see if they are of similar quality.

Nice affordable pull saw
I really like this as my first pull saw. It takes a little getting used to but it's worth it. Very sharp, comes with some plastic blade guards that are fairly easy to take off and put on again which is nice, long handle makes it easy and comfortable to use. The blade is detachable from the handle which I guess could be useful to someone. With practice it should be possible to make very straight cuts, I'm a total novice with any type of saw so not quite there yet. It is very easy to use though, I can saw through softwood just holding the piece in my hand with very little effort. If I do ever manage to blunt it, providing it lasts a reasonable amount of time, I would probably buy another.

Useful pull saw
Very useful addition to the tool box. Very sharp but the 7tpi side can be a bit rought to start. Works well by starting on the push stroke with the fine side and a couple of pulls before moving to larger teeth side. Flexible blade good for flush cutting but just a little too flexible on a straight cut at times. I wouldn't use for any particularly fine woodworking but also wouldn't be without this now even after just a few varied DIY uses.

Good value
This isn't an expensive top of the range Japanese saw but it's very functional at a good price. It gives an idea of using a pull saw rather than a push one. It has replaced my tenon, gents saw and general hand saw. I prefer the side with the smaller sharp hardened teeth as sometimes the other side is a bit fiddly to get a start. Been using it weekly for about a year for rough stuff and have another more expensive one for quality work, and is still sharp.

Want straight cuts?
Very sharp. I can now cut straight. Amazing how much easier to use than a normal saw. Use it all the time never use push saws anymore. It’s also smaller so fits better in my tool box. Just wish they were cheaper.

Happinese Pull Saw
So called 'Japanese Pull Saws', come in many different sizes and shapes (umm). I have wasted a lot of money looking for the best. Irwin Pull Saws are the best I've found and on the less expensive side. Their dovetail saw is also excellent. As a teacher for charities I value, well value, so if Irwin would like to contribute, bring it on. Hahaha.

Wow! What a difference this makes.
I'd seen various YouTuber's recommending this saw and decided to try it given that we have some firewood that has been sitting around for a couple of years. Hated trying our saws on that, really hard work to get through even a single piece. With this saw, once you've adapted to the way it works, sawing is a breeze! And it produces an incredibly clean cut. However, you do need to adapt the way you saw things. The saw cuts on the PULL not the push and you need to not put pressure on the saw when pushing otherwise it will flex very easily and so jam. Even when pulling, you don't need to put any really downward pressure, the saw will cut well without that effort.Having the two different saw sizes on the 1 device is also a real time saver and lets you quickly switch even on the same piece of wood which can be useful when cutting tree branches. The shape makes the saw very easy to use.It also makes some very nice sounds :-)

Great saw but...
I have one Irwin saw but having problem to buy replacement blade I decided ordered new one. Unfortunately I can't disassembled it. Blade stuck in the handle.
