Does what it says on the tin...
Good watch. Got it after my Seiko strap gave up (again) having spent more than £50 repairing my old watch over the years, I just wanted something that worked all the time and had no issues with battery changes and repairs. This watch is sturdy and has a large bold face and analogue feel with all the benefits of a digital watch (which technically it is). The digital display is small though so really it is for those who like reading the hands, not the digital display. The no battery thing is great. Looking forward to not having to change it - ever - with luck. The strap is plastic/rubber but has been designed with some springy give near the face which will prevent it stressing the joint at the watch face as much as happened with my last metal Seiko watch meaning the strap and hinges needed to be replaced every few years after normal wear an tear.Sounds sad, but the best bit was setting the digital watch for the first time and then seeing the watch hands calibrate themselves automatically to the digital readout time...read the little instruction booklet when you first set it up and you'll do fine. After that it is fairly intuitive to use. Top marks. Good product. If you chainsaw with a watch cough up for a G-shock...this one is not designed for the vibration...I took mine off - which is the cheaper option !On price. This is Bargain. Got it for £29 from an Amazon seller - half the price I spent repairing my hold watch...why do anything else?

watch review
Service excellent, I'd purchased in a hurry needing to replace my damaged old g-shock. Only after I'd ordered did I notice some less favorable reviews, - poor manual, luminosity, lack of second hand etc. I have to say I disagree, I found the watch easy and quick to set up, the manual was fine, it makes clear at the beginning that you need first to select your world city and thats easy to do and once done everything else is quick and straightforward. It came with a high / full charge, its quite large face is clear easy to read, the luminosity could be more robust but I don't find it much an issue at all. Most especially given the price, truly excellent value. Its less than the cost of a replacement resin case for my old g-shock which has given sterling service and kept going when all my more expensive watch's have failed. I don't miss the second hand, the bar indicator works very well. I very happy with this and have no complaints about purchase, supplier or service and I dont' think I've ever said that before. My only wish is that Casio if they can produce this quality at a profit, they really should use this as a template to produce a solar g-shock, with a unidirectional bezel, beefier luminosity and at very least 20bar preferably 30bar. That I think would be a big seller

Great watch for everyday use and looks good whether in ...
Bought this watch in 2012 so this is a five year, long-term use review. I can't wear heavy watches as I have quite small wrists and my last watch made my elbow ache !!! This Casio Tough-Solar is really light and durable and will take a bit of a knock. I didn't want a super-expensive watch as I'd then be too afraid to wear it in case I knocked and damaged it (as has been my previous history with watches!). I did have to return it to Casio once quite early on as the analogue and digital time settings weren't synching up when I set the time - did this via a jeweller friend so thankfully didn't cost me anything. After five years, the words at the top and bottom of the case ("Iluminator" and "Tough-Solar") have now worn off. But the watch is going well, very accurate (I usually reset the time every four or five months and it's rarely more than about twenty seconds out). Great watch for everyday use and looks good whether in everyday casual/sporty clothes or wearing a suit. Digital display is quite small and could do with being a little bigger. Strap is unmarked - no cracks etc., even though it's had lots of water exposure. Great not having to worry about a battery in all this time and solar panel is very efficient even with minimal or artificial light. Paid £30 in 2012 and it was money really well spent. Thoroughly recommend if you don't mind the writing wearing off after some time and can cope with the small digital display.

Big clear watch
This is a great value watch with many useful features. I use the two timers every day when cooking. It has 5 alarms a stopwatch and dual time zones with a very good feature. You can switch the analogue time for the digital time when you arrive in another country just by holding down the two upper buttons. The light only lights up the digital display but the lume isn't too bad and will stay bright for about an hour. No match for a Seiko but heh, £35. My watch runs at -1 second a week which is very acceptable at any price. Another great feature is the solar power so no battery changes required. It is a big watch but it is very light and wears ok on my skinny wrist. Finally the glass is acrylic so scratches can be removed at home. I use duraglit. Highly recommended.

Best watch i've ever had.
I recently bought this watch as a tidy replacement for an older one of these with grey numbers.Tidy because this new one looks new and presentable , whereas the old one looks like its been through a cement mill ( not far from the truth). It is so durable it shrugs off all that I've thrown at it without for at least 6 years. Every bit as good as a G-Shock but lighter not as thick. Much of the front plastic casing has worn away, the glass has scratched but not broken and it has a newer strap and the pins drilled out to use paper clips instead. This is amazing considering it's brutal treatment.Of all the watches I've tried it's also the most comfortable to wear and keeps the best time. Solar charge means it will not need a battery change. The only negative point to Casio is the way they display the date, moth number, day number and seconds, another choice if day Mon, Tue etc and seconds. This is not logical and a little confusing particularly if you are accustomed to day, month year format.Other than the date display there is nothing to detract from the watch. Highly recommended if you want a reasonably priced watch that will endure a hard life. My old one will still carry on doing sterling work while i'm repairing cement packing machines.

Very durable and long lasting watch.
If you want your watch to last a long time, this watch is an ideal choice. Having this watch for 3 years already, it's not really showing any signs of stopping, still tracking time accurately, all functions working good. Has got good functions, like a stopwatch, alarm and timer. Has got this really cool feature where you can select the option to change between timezones and see the watch automatically change the time on its analogue face and digital face. Nice party trick there. When I brought my watch only the black and white, and black and blue options were available. But the new options are looking good too. It looks like a hardy watch and I like the fact it is solar, very difficult to find a solar hardy watch at similar prices. It also has options where it automatically conserves it's power when you don't use it and keep it in a drawer and knows when you are using it due to it detecting the light using the solar panel. If you are looking for a hardy, analogue and digital, solar watch, this a good choice, especially at the price point.

An Excellent Casio Solar
Many of the amazon reviews are spot on here. I bought this solar watch to take away on holiday and have not been disappointed. The analogue display is large, clear and easy to read. The LCD inset looks stylish, neat and makes many of the functions easy to access. The watch is not radio controlled but has timezones that alter the time of both the LCD and analogue display once you have set the time. Setting the watch is relatively easy via the LCD display and once done moves and sets the analogue hands automatically - a really neat feature. Accuracy is excellent - my watch proved accurate to one second per week. There are so many pros that it seems churlish to criticise but if forced I would say that it would be nice if the light illuminated the whole of the watch face rather than the LCD display only but in fairness the luminous hands probably offset this criticism. In summary this is a watch that looks far more expensive than the £30 asking price and given the features included, accuracy and attractive appearance is an absolute bargain.

Ok
Good watch but bit disappointed with the 'light' and illumination as its very dim and hard to read in dark, fine in daylight and with solar charging for everlasting battery life

Casio never fail
Does the jobb. Good about it, charge with solar.

Orologio digitale Casio Tough Solar
