Great oil to clean and lubricate

It's a great product as I use it frequently but my issue , as others have stated is I also ordered 3 in 1 multi purpose oil and 3 in 1 motor oil in the same shipment and they were intact. this one not so much. They each came in individually wrapped bags but this one was torn and the cap was only half tight , allowing about 1/4 of the bottle to leak out. The inside and outside of the Amazon box was saturated with oil but the box was not crushed or damaged in any way. This seems like a quality control issue to me as the other 2 products tops are locked in place with a strap of plastic forcing you to actually cut it off to loosen the cap , whereas the penetrating oil is not. You just need to unscrew the top a little to allow it to be used. All in all it is a great product but not so great dispenser top meant for shipping

I had been working on a 100 year old (literally!) light fixture, trying to rewire it to use in my house. But I couldn't disassemble it past a certain point. I suspected that I needed to unscrew two sections but I couldn't even see the location where the two parts joined. I twisted the parts but nothing would budge, and I was afraid to put my full strength behind it because I couldn't be sure there was even a threaded joint there.I had fully given up and was googling for a lamp repair shop nearby when I remembered I had bought this penetrating oil for one of my son's projects. I squirted a modest amount into the area where I believed the sections joined, waited a brief time and twisted. It turned easily and i was able to fully disassemble my light. The light itself is aluminum and had an iron pipe screwed into a tapped hole in the aluminum and the pipe had rusted (and engaged in who knows what sort of galvanic mischief). The oil broke through a century's worth of rust in seconds. I'm a believer.

It costs a bit more than plain 3-in-1 but it's wonderful. Regular 3-in-1 is good; this is better.I need to buy more!

Overall - you will find that having this around makes life a lot easier (and longer lasting in terms of products!)So many times people use WD-40 as a general lubricant, when really they should be looking for an actual lubricant, rather than a moisture displacer.This is compact, easy to throw in a truck or tool box, and will serve me well for the next few years.

Its a good product, that has a place in your shop.Sometimes you can't spray or don't want to spray a bolt.You can spray into an old cup or something, and get a toothpick.....well, you get the idea.This works better in my opinion for those tasks because there is moreingredient on task, and not aresol.Now.If my package would just arrive with the oil in the container!UPS guy didn't care for the greasey mess all over him and his other packages.The outer box was in great shape. BTW. Just soaked with oil.We opened it up right there, as I refused the package.The cardboard was dark brown and stinky from the oil.Inside was a bag with an empty bottle in it.The cap had come off! Inside the bag, inside the box.Oh well, Amazon refunded.I'll probably reorder.Edit:I did reorder. Came in box too large rattling around with no protection.But it was in tact and a quality product.I'm leaving stars as is for 2 reaaons.The cap on this product is very flimsy. The oil inside is viscosity of gasoline.It is designed to slip into the threads of a stuck bolt ot nut.That means it can escape the same way!There needs to be a better cap designed for this in particular not a regular household oil, to prevent leaks.If it was or is:fire your designer.

Wonderful product. Works as advertised.
