Lovely
I wanted a real Christmas tree for my kitchen/diner. I had a fake one in my living room but missed the smell from a real tree.Due to the location where the tree was going, we did not want to have mains operated lights - the cables were not only messy but they were only going to be used infrequently during the festive season.I wanted battery powered lights that were longer lasting and better quality than those bought in a pound shop.Due to the size of the tree - 5ft, we decided to go for 200 lights.I opted for The Christmas Workshop, which are a mid-range/value brand quality. The brand are often found in some garden centres and pop up shops. The lights were well packaged. The cable was long enough to do what I needed to do. The lights well spaced. These lights required 4 x AA batteries. But these come with different light settings, from flashy to faded. I prefer mine just on static. All the settings worked as advertised. The warm lights were gentle. They did not look like the bright orange, that earlier LED lights brought us. I've always used traditional bulbed fairy lights on my main tree, and I didn't notice much difference in 'colour' between these and the traditional bulbs.Saying that, these are slightly duller but that's due to them being battery operated rather than through the mains. In all, I would highly recommend these. I am very happy with the results.

Nice and colourful
For battery lights these are surprisingly bright. Well certainly they look their best in the dark. The timer function works perfectly, and mine have been on now for 11 nights, and the same set of batteries are holding up well. (They are Duracell, so I would expect them to last much longer than el cheapo ones.) They have been on an outdoor tree during this time, rained on 2 or 3 times and blown about by the wind, and they are still good. Oh, and I secured them in place with cable ties.

Not quite as advertised
These lights take C batteries. Not AAs as advertised in the listingI had wondered whether this was correct given the type/number of lights but put faith in the listing being accurate. Sadly this was not the case. I should have gone with my gut and believed the picture of the box (zoom in).Lights themselves are fine. Batteries last about 15 days on the 6 hour timer before really struggling to light up.
