Years after the onset of the Clone Wars, the Sith unveil a thousand-year-old plot, the Republic crumbles and from its ashes rises the evil Galactic Empire. Confirming the worst fears of Jedi Mace Windu (Samuel L. Jackson), Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) is seduced by the dark side of the Force and becomes the Emperor’s new apprentice—Darth Vader. The Jedi are decimated, as Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) and Jedi Master Yoda are forced into hiding. The only hope for the galaxy are Anakin’s own children… a boy and girl who share a heroic destiny.

Finally... !
I first saw this film in the cinema on it's first release night. I came out quite disappointed, it did not seem to reach my standards. However I had to get it on dvd, the first day it came out - I needed to complete the trilogy. When I watched it in the comfort of my own home - without the busy cinema surroundings - I loved this film.It felt like quite a long film when I originally at the cinema however with the bonus of the pause botton for the DVD for toilet breaks and drinks etc it seems to fly by.In the first week of owning this dvd i found time to watch it 3 times within a very busy time schedule. I just had to rewatch, noticing more and more everytime I watch it.The DVD quality is great. It is a fantastic salute to the success of the original films. After watching the film on DVD I want them to redo the old films. The use of special effects is great, especially the use of light and dark. The fight scenes are thrilling and Padame's last scene rings in your ears for the next week. Darth vader's physical change is quite unexpectedly gruesome but when you watch the great array of special features on the two discs you understand why this ending is like it is. Oh and I have read that somewhere on the dvd is a hidden special feature of Yoda dancing and rapping.Such perfection to detail!!Definately get this DVD and book the whole day for the whole saga, you wont be disappointed!!

Attack Of The Clones...Star Wars prequel getting better...
As with it's predecessor (The Phantom Menace), Episode 2 is STILL a very enjoyable film. Also, like it's predecessor, it inevitably suffers in comparison to Episodes 4 & 5 (didn't mention Return Of The Jedi in the same breath as not quite up with its 2 predecessors either).Primarily, this is because (& talking about a space sci-fi fantasy film this may sound ironic) it just does not seem as 'REAL' as the Star Wars movies of 1977 & 1980! The OVER use of CGI seems to create this scenario. Some of the CGI just looks basically false! Also,EVEN for a jedi, Anakin dropping out of Obi Wan's vehicle and falling about 3 miles below exactly into the ship of the bounty hunter they are pursuing just seems TOO incredible to be plausible! (although it DOES look good).Additionally, there still seems to be an attempt by the makers to please all of the age range of the audience age range too much...I mean, that part with C3P0's head being placed on a battle droid & all of the loopy dialogue that goes along with it! To quote the robot himself, "It's such a drag!" Far too camp, not very funny & would have been better if less farcical. Although seems that the producers had learned the lesson a bit by having less Jar-Jar Binks slapstick like in the first movie, only to replace with the droids taking over the mantle! However, it has to be remembered & acknowledged that the special effects in the movie are generally amazing (above points taken into account). The flight sequences & ships around the planet traffic are awesome, as are other 'stand-out' bits like the creatures in the arena. Also, the space cut scenes & the bit in the asteroid field are jaw-dropping.The score is, once again, exceptional. The new character of Jango Fett is cool & the really poignant look on his son Boba's face when he holds his dad's decapitated head in his hands is classic Star Wars. So, a very, very good Sci-Fi movie for many reasons, that deserves watching again & again. Watched it again last night & it does get better every time...I KNOW that they have their flaws, but the prequels are REALLY cool if the truth be told! Don't be too hard on it...FAR more good than bad!

Strong stuff but worth seeing !
Ian McDiarmand shows why he is such a superb Shakespearian actor with a master class performance as the devilish Chancellor / Emperor . Yes it is a violent & depressing film but given the fact that Darth Vader finally turns up what else can one expect ? The suspense , drama and twists & turns keep the viewer gripped untill the powerful conclusion when the New Trilogy rejoins the continuity of the old one as filmed between 1977 & 1983 and we see it all as pattern of a story . The tale is about the rise , triumph , fall and redemption of Darth Vader . As a film the writing is not too bad - the dialogue could have been worse . It avoids being poor like Independence Day whereby special effects are relied upon while the scripting and acting is poor . But in Revenge Of The Sith the cast rise to the challenge very well and as a tragic warning about the perils of greed & fear driving a person to make mistakes it works very well . Unlike The Phantom Menace this more recent Star Wars film does manage to live up to the hype . I really enjoyed seeing it again the other day - an absolute must for sci-fi fans ! Well done George Lucas !

At last a good star wars film!
Wow is simply all I can say!after the star wars does spy kids episode 1 and the so so episode 2 we have the greatest star wars film since the empire strikes back. The film workson the most part due to Steven Spielberg having an input into the action set pieces which makes the film far more fun and shows what a jedi and sith can really do in a fight, the battle between the palpatine and yoda is amazing.I can only dream of what the first two films would have been like if Spielberg had looked after the action instead of the boring plot and same action we have seen before, to be fair though the pod race was cool in episode 1.Episiode 3 is a sci fi version of macbeth, the heartbreaking cruelty of what palpatine puts anakin through and the unyealding ethics of the jedi order, it puts the original trilogy in a new light. If only anakin had a friend like han solo then the sith plans would have been stopped.the effects are top notch while the script could have done with a little more work but all in all an excellent film.
