Metal Safety Rule - 300mm

Having inherited one of these before, pleased to be able to get a new one. Keeps your fingers safe from a sharp knife when cutting material.

Bought for my wife to use on her crafts. Nice and sturdy, keeping fingers away from sharp cutters.

After reading mixed reviews for this one I was a bit worried to be honest. I ordered this safety rule on Tuesday, it was dispatched on Wednesday and it arrived today (Friday - 3 days). It was well packaged; sturdy brown envelope and within it had a roll of corrugated cardboard taped around it. Regarding the sharp edges issue which some people have had - yes, it does have sharp edges, but unless you have very soft skin or are about to use it on very delicate surfaces, I don't think they would be an issue. A quick swipe over with a metal file sorts them out in any case. The scale is accurate according to my other rule. As other people have mentioned, the scale on the metric side does only go up to 20cm (the last 10cm being in inches) but as I was warned about that I will leave it with 5 stars. (I do think the description should be changed though, to reflect the fact that it does not measure to 300mm unless you re-position the rule.) I wish I had bought this rule years ago....It would have saved many a sliced finger. If you are looking for a safety rule (i.e. one where you do not slice your fingertips off with a Stanley knife through a moment of inattention) but can use another rule for accurate measurements over 20cm then I don't think you can beat this one for the price.

Brilliant “M” shaped safety rule with inches on one side and cm's on the other. I do a lot of laminating and trimming to size and this rule is ideal for putting pressure down and keeping my fingers well out of the way in the groove of the M. I would go as far as to say that no home really should be without one of these, from the youngest of children through to someone as seasoned as myself for hobbies, art & crafts. Haven't actually used item yet. Mainly bought as a cutting guide so can't comment on accuracy. Certainly good for purpose. Acceptable price.

good for metal and woodwork. it can also weigh down paper very effectively helping you measure a lot more easily. It does state that it is a 'rule' , when it is in fact a 'ruler' as the markings do not begin at the end - it has 'rule' printed on it. This is a minor issue and is very un-noticable

Not a full scale on both sides.Imperial side is cut short with 100mm included.I wanted full scale both sides, inches and mm.
