Plasti-kote 3101 400ml Super Spray Paint - Matt Black (Packaging may vary)

I used this paint recently to paint a flat metal switch surround on my motorhome black. As over time the colour had started flaking off and some rust patches had started to develop. I sanded it down, applied some rust converter. Followed by a suitable primer then 2 - 3 light coats of this paint. And unlike some of the negative reviews I can honestly say it went on great. Good coverage, no spots or drips coming out of the nozzle, went on evenly. I did give it a really good shake for at least 2 minutes. Very nice paint to use, very impressed with the quality, price and finish. I personally would recommend this product.

So far so good. I am impressed with this product. We had an external boiler fitted and the waste pipe used was white. I wanted to paint them black so used this spray. I lightly sanded the pipes and then sprayed them with the black matt finish. The spray went on really nicely, i started with a light covering and then went back over with a much heavier coat. Initially the paint is glossy but dries very quickly to a uniform matt finish. The coverage was great for what i needed and have some paint left in the can. I am very pleased with the result - in all honesty you would not know these pipes weren't black to begin with. Very impressed. Can't comment on how long it will last as i have only just covered them so time will tell on that part.

I bought this for my green bin, yes I am that cheap, my black bin was stolen and the council wanted to charge me for a replacement so, I have two green bins (which are free might I add) i spray painted one black. Its worked like magic, can't say if its weather proof as it hasn't Rained yet but it dries rather fast and my green bin now identifies as a black bin. It was easy to do with minimal smell, and it didn't make much mess but I did do this outside. It needs a few patches doing over as I missed a few bits but overall it's fantastic. I bought more than one can and I've used one and a bit for the outside of the bin* Looks fantastic. Unfortunately this is not a permanent spray and it does come off if wet or knocked/scraped hence the 4 star review. Looks good to start but does not last.

I thought I'd skimp on spray paint and buy some from the pound shop, big mistake. For a start it hardly has any product in the can, it smelled very strong, and took ages to dry. This Plasti-kote spray paint is far superior, and you can feel the weight of the paint in the can. It goes on smoothly, without spattering, and despite having to keep the nozzle depressed its not too sore on the hands. The colour is a very black black, which I softened with some Plasti-kote Aluminum colour on a sponge round edges to give a worn enamelled metal look. The smell is strong, but dissipates after the product is dried. I used it on a costume for Halloween, and it covered, paper, card, plastic, polystyrene, fabric, and rubber all with success. It remained tackier on the rubber, which was a cut up hot water bottle, but after a few days it was fully set. I have lots of the product left so can't complain about value for money. It pays to buy the best, and I will return to Plasti-kote again, after my silly apparent money saving venture. I also like the fact that it has a safety lid on it, so if you have inquisitive little people around they hopefully wont get it off if they find the can. Amazon have beaten other stockists on price again to give the best value out there to their customers.

This is a nice can! The finish isn't matt as other reviewers say (the primer I used was more matt than this). It's more like the finish you get with powder coating, but since that was what I was going for anyway I am pretty happy. It goes on very smooth and is easy to layer without seams or splatter. For the price its a fair amount of paint, but get two cans for all but the smallest projects. I will say this somehow manages to make more mess than other cans (like spray goes everywhere and comes back onto you more often for some reason). Also, all cans say use in a well ventilated area, but whatever is in this is *really* toxic. I sprayed indoors due to the cold once, and after three coats went down with a bad headache, eye irritation and nausea all night. It needs active ventilation and a mask to use.

Bought this product to clean up my tow bar on my 4x4, I had my corner bars powder coated matt black then realised that the tow bar needed attention so that the back end of the car would match nicely. Easy to apply, dried quicky, superb finish and reasonably priced. Still lots left in the tin to cover again if needed. The lid was damaged on delivery so had to bin the lid but this was due to packaging which was a cardboard envelope. Great product and would purchase again in the future, matt black was the perfect match for me.

This product goes on really well, I found it only needed touching up on areas missed so no second coat needed but...it is definitely not matt! Rather disappointed as the reviews were hit and miss about this but thought I'd risk it for a biscuit but the biscuit was stale. If you want matt I'd suggest using the plastiKote perfect finish primer in black....I'd bought that to prime the things I was spray painting in case the coverage on this wasn't great...that needed one coat AND is matt! All in all this is a good product but definitely not the finish I was after.

Bought “Matt black”, but not so sure I’d describe it as matt (see photos). I purchased this to change the colour of a previously light green resin Buddha statue, and a pale grey ceramic vase. In terms of application, coverage, quality and ease of use, I’d say this is an excellent spray paint. However as a note of warning to other potential buyers, I’d advise that this has more of a satin finish.
