Simply a great phone.
I was a little worried when I bought this phone as it seemed like a step backwards from my Samsung Galaxy but I kept missing calls because by the time I had got the phone out the call had gone and I was struggling to get the numbers I wanted rubbing and tapping the screen. When I received the Doro 612 what a difference! I found it easy to set up all my contacts were transferred with the sim from the Samsung. I tried it out phoning my son in Devon and it worked perfectly, no rubbing my fingers about on a screen, just easy to see buttons, very good volume, and also you can delete those unwanted messages without deleting the ones you want. In fact it does just what it should as an easy to use mobile phone. If you want a simple to use phone then look no further. Fits easily into your pocket and the clam shell design makes it easy to hear the conversation, without struggling to find which way round the phone should be. Buy it! UPDATE 16 August 2017 Phone still working well, can safely say it is the best mobile phone I have owned. Good clear sound with great volume and easy to pop in your pocket, with out having to worry about damaging it. Holds charge very well.

Good phone for basics
Am very pleased with structure of this phone. Easy keypad, lbrilliant bright screen, plenty of tones for calls, texts and alarm etc. and camera ok for casual pictures though not experimented with it much yet. Am finding the texting a bit clunky compared to my old Samsung, need to do more key presses for simple things - such as a full stop - though perhaps I should stop using punctuation! However, about 4 presses to get an apostrophe which you DO need to type some words as it won't let you just add an s. Have to choose alternative words with sometimes more key strokes, whereas on my old phone it was a toggle system. But I am getting used to it and therefore quicker! Have been using it about a month. I'm sure it is a great phone if you mainly do just calls, sound is great, my husband is impressed and he wears hearing aids. Emergency call feature looks really useful, not old enough to need it yet I hope. Nice to hold, battery life on standby and calls is great, much better than my old phone even when it was new.

Brilliant Phone!
What a brilliant little phone! Very easy to set up and use. Keys are large so a great help for my arthritic fingers. It sound range has to be heard to be believed. It is hearing aid compatible and I can hear every word! Whoopee! Good choice of ring tones and volume control - no more missed calls for me. The predictive text is slightly different to what I'm used to - but I'll get used to it, and the speed which it writes can be increased. (If I've read the instructions right). The instructions themselves are very good and easy to understand. The camera is very easy to use, I've practiced taking photos of my dogs, results are good. It has a radio and headphones, and has two games. The case itself is sturdy and being of the clam type means it can sit in my handbag and not make the odd call whilst I'm driving - due to buttons being in contact with items in my handbag. Only had it a few days and I love it. Best phone I've ever had.

Will go back to a smartphone
Not sure I should have opted for this phone having had a smart phone for 2 years or so. I found I was only using my smartphone for making calls and texts, preferring to use my tablet, therefore, when it started to give me problems I decided to go back to the old mobile which didn't need charging so often and easier to read in sunlight. The phone is great, easy to handle, clear ringtones etc and holds its charge. I cannot fault it but I didn't realise how dated the technology would feel until I started using it. So, I would say 'great' if you are used to this type of phone but think again if you are used to a smartphone.

Excellent phone which I cannot fault - But battery life poor only hous then switches off (unpridictable)
Excellent phone which I cannot fault, except for the poor camera results. By the way, according to the DORO web sight the resolution is 2mp not 0.3 as stated in the Amazon description, so it should be better than it is. I can only assume that my carefully taken photos are blurred due to a poor lens or a fault in the camera. Photos seem OK close up, but long shots are very fuzzy. (I always hold the camera steady when shooting) UPDATE - Battery life is poor. It says full charge not achieved until about 4 charges, but after five charges it only lasts a couple of days even when the phone is lightly used. Update - Battery life erratic even with new battery, Sometmes 1 or 2 days, othertimes a few hours then switches off. Not recommended for elderly.

A real potential life saver - Give Great Peace Mind
Brilliant phone, easy for elderly to use. A real potential life saver with the easy to use Alarm button that raises the alarm via a load alarm sound (for people near by to hear) and sending emergency text messages to a prescribed list of contacts. Or you can set it up to call a pre-scribed list of people, using the speaker phone function. However, this is limited as if someone you call has an answer phone the Doro stops calling people as it thinks the emergency has been answered?!! The only other niggle is during the setting up, inputting the contacts is a bit time consuming, for people used to smart phones. But once set up the phone is brilliant. And my relative in their 80's with no phone tech experience has mastered the use of it; can make and receive calls and knows how to trigger the Alarm, which is the main thing for us. Another nice feature, is you can input their person's medical information, so in an emergency, a paramedic etc, can quickly know the person's essential medical and contact details.

Great phone at a great price
I bought this phone for my mum & dad & they find it handy to use & they like the flip phone style well worth the money & would recommend this phone for an elderly member of the family or someone who has bad eyesight the phone also comes with the SOS button & will send a GPS signal to their next of kin if they need help a big bonus the only thing I would say is the size of screen doesn't show a photo very well but for call & text it's a good phone & works well with hearing aids.

A very good basic 'no frills' phone with the added attraction of a camera, easy to use and I like the clam top. However, I bought this phone as my hearing has deteriorated and I often missed calls on my old Nokia 1661 phone, and although the call ringtone is good on maximum, the message tone is no louder than the Nokia, so I'm still missing picking up messages immediately. Also, there is no save facility when texting as there is on the Nokia, so I can't start a text, save and return to it later to complete, which I found very useful. Lastly, if I accidentally exit the text before sending, which has happened a few times, it's gone and I have to start again. With the Nokia I simply went into Create and the message was still there and I could pick up where I left off. So, good phone, just a shame these two basic functions aren't covered.
