This feisty little jump-starter has been saving my life on a regular basis since it arrived five days ago. It's amazing. Why aren't car batteries made of the same stuff?My Citroen C4 Grand Picasso has a fault which is causing the battery to drain itself if left longer than an few hours. It'll not be seen by the garage until later this week.Meanwhile, the "DBPOWER 600A Peak 18000mAh Portable Car Jump Starter Battery Booster Pack Smart Power Bank Charger with Compass, LCD Screen and LED Torch" has been as handy as its name is long. That's to say 'very'.So far this week, I've fully charged the unit once (when it was delivered), and jump started the car ten times - the useful charge status display has only just gone from 100% to 99%. Given that it'll start the engine at anything above 25%, I'm impressed by its longevity. Yet it weighs about the same as a pint of milk and a couple of avocados. My car battery weighs a couple of tonnes, and gives out after two or three unsuccessful attempts to start the engine.It's easy to use (my car only has the positive battery terminal exposed - the negative clips to the chassis), it's compact, it's light and it's rugged. I suppose they could have made it smell of coffee or bacon, but I'm not sure that'd strictly necessary. As it is, it doesn't really smell of anything.The added bonus of USB charging ports is a godsend (two young children in the back, who are blissfully calm only as long as their tablets are charged). The bright torch and flashing warning light are a comfort to have in the vehicle in case of breakdown, or needing to locate a lost glass slipper on the steps of a royal palace at midnight.Everyone should have one of these in their pumpkin. Car, I meant car.

This is the most amazing device I’ve owned in a long time. Take no notice of the poor reviews. This thing is the nutz. I own a 2.7 liter V6 and a 6.6 liter V8. The V6 has had a dodgy battery and sometimes by accident I leave the interior lights on. I charged this unit up to 100% and have had to start the V6 about 12 times over the 6 months that Ive owned this device. Amazingly after the first 3-4 starts the charge was still showing 100%. It only started going down slowly after 5-6 jump starts, going down to around 80% after about 12 starts. My 6.6 liter Chevrolet V8 then unexpectedly needed a charge, so I thought this would be the real test. But unbelievably it started it right away. It amazingly went on to start the 6.6 liter V8 another 4 times before it was down to only 76%. All this without re charging the device once over the 6 months I’ve owned it!! How much longer it would have gone on and what the lowest percentage would be before it could power no more, I have no idea? So just to be on the safe side I recharged it back up to 100% ..which took literally minutes! I’m an ex mechanic and I happen to have an old style ‘workshop’ booster/starter, which although portable, weighs a ton and is mains power only. To have something not much bigger than a couple of packs of cards that performs as this product does is literally miraculous. I was so dubious when I read the negative reviews (all I can think is they’re posted by the competition?) but I can honestly recommend this superb product to anybody. Yes it’s a little more expensive with a higher power rating, but with this comes more than adequate performance, and the satisfaction that you can charge it once, then forget about it! Months later it will be there, reassuringly ready to go, when and if you need it. Of course I cannot comment about the devices really long term performance, but I would imagine going off the performance to date, that this is likely to last for years. It also comes with all sorts of other connectors in a Super Nice case, for if you want to recharge your phone or power your laptop etc. This small ‘brick’ has the power for huge petrol engines, down to the tiniest of devices.. it ‘does it all’ and is all you’ll need to get you out of any situation imaginable. And it comes with a built in torch & compass (strangely?) with a superbly well styled, tough, quality, rubberized and colourful casing so you can’t miss it. The term ‘worth every penny’ cannot be overstated with the situations this starter has got me out of. If it only lasted another six months it would more than have paid for its self. But I think it will be my trusty backup companion for years to come judging by the way it has performed over this past six months. Go buy one now.. you honestly won’t regret it. I cannot think of one negative thing to say. IT’S SUPERB.P.S. I only very occasionally do reviews, just for those things that really impress me.. I normally don’t have the time. And NO, I do not have any connections to the company lol.

This is a solid piece of kit containing all you need contained in a handy case. Easily capable of starting largish engine cars from completely flat (6 cyl 3.2L petrol).However a point of caution/note to anyone who has a vehicle with a concealed battery, these cars often have battery points in the engine bay for jump starting, but the leads with this charger may not be long enough to safely connect to both terminals.To access the battery is a bigger job at the roadside which would negate some of the convenience of such a device.Emailed the support email to ask if anything can be done but may have to return the unit sadly.

I use this as an additional power tank for powering my telescope mount, and for this particularly this item is absolutely ideal.It appears to be very well built, the instructions are very clear and in all the functions are excellent. I personally use the 16v output option as this is the optimum voltage for my mount, and in turn it reduces the current draw so extends the battery life.There are a multitude of leads and adaptors which will work with most items. However, newer HP laptops use a unique plug of which there isn't one, and of course Apple use their own plugs. You could make an adapter by buying a used lead and chopping it about, but be careful with polarity and of course voltages as these can vary.I love the carry case, which really is good quality, and has a very good netted section for all the leads, with a cover preventing those items scratching the main battery unit.The only grip I have it that the red light, which would be ideal for me for astronomy, is only flashing, but as this is designed to be a warning lamp, and not designed as a red torch, this is as designed, but a shame for me.I've not used it to start a car with a flat battery, but using it as I have, and being an electrical engineer, I see no reason why it shouldn't delivery the suggested performance, provided you strictly adhere to the instructions.In all very good, and would definitely buy another and recommend this to others.
