It does the job and if you start one and going along bit by bit you even be able to safe the grippers however it depends on the state of the grippers really.

This is one of the most useful and versatile tools I have ever bought. I only once used it on a pallet, my main use has been on fences and in particlar salvaging reusable parts of old panels. It is much more versatile than a crowbar, large or small.

Can I use this to lift a wardrobe onto some furniture sliders?

Assuming an average 2 door wardrobe the weight won't snap it or straighten it (whatever you're worried about) but the logistics of exactly how you'd do it would be interesting. I'd cover the ends in foam maybe to reduce damage to the wood. Also some spare timber to aid with the rise. Good luck.
