Does a decent job if you use it correctly
This has done a good job removing any dust and cat hair from my vinyl records. It is very light weight which means it is very easy to drop, especially if it catches a bit of friction - but the way to avoid this is to use it very very lightly across the vinyl surface. I noticed markings (possibly scratched) when I tried to use it in a side-to-side motion (as some YT videos recommend - IGNORE THEM!). Tip: let the record spin on the lowest speed, whilst gently holding the brush over the surface, and gently brush in a circular motion along the grooves of the record. Then pause the record and dab any visible particles away, the brush usually picks up little particulates this way. Overall I'm pleased with it - although I can't comment on whether the needle brush works, I just trust that it works.

Exactly what you need.
This is a great brush for cleaning your vinyl. I tend to give each vinyl a brush as it spins just before I put the needle down, and this brush is almost the perfect weight for just resting on top of your vinyl without slowing down the motor. It can struggle to get some bits of dust/dirt off, but I think that's to be expected - it's better for your brush to be under rather than over-zealous!The design of the brush is decent, although the plastic holding for the mini-brush on top is not quite as secure as I'd like and feels like it might fall off if you weren't being careful, but that's a really minor complaint. The mini-brush is decent, but I've actually been using it to dust the bigger brush! For that job it works exceptionally well - I'll dust my vinyl, put the needle down, then use the mini brush to give the bigger one a light dust off so as not to allow a build up, before putting them both away. The brush is compact and fits within my turntable when packed away, so really it's ideal on every front. Would recommend, especially for the price.

So good I bought it twice !
Some products/ designs Just work and his is definetly one of them Looks Identical to the one I bought from Boots 40 years ago and sill haveLast year I bought a Carbon brush but found it ineffective compared to my old Boots audio velvet block. This one is so much better and much cheaper than the carbon bristle brush. So a day after receiving and using it for he first time I knew I had to order another. Now my logic behind this is so I can have one impregnated and always have a wet one and a dry one to hand (since you can add liquid through the top ). It does a really good job at removing dust from my Albums old and new and reduces static. I use it off the platter a quick wipe before and one after playing. It doesn't need pressure as the friction from the micro fibre is enough. If you need more pressure then time to wet cleanThe stylus brush is vey soft and will not remove heavy build up from the stylus however since using this I find the stylus stays cleaner I sill use a Carbon fibre stylus bush but not as often now, as these blocks are so good.I recommend buy one. Actually scratch that at this price by 2!

Cleans up old, neglected records very nicely
Coupled with Record Cleaner for Vinyl Records I've managed to clean up a couple of old, badly neglected records that were donated to me.As a record collector in the past I have a high respect for my vinyl and so to receive LPs in a dirty, unloved state saddens me a bit. Putting these two items to use, though, has given at least these two albums a new lease of life.Sure, there are still crackles from the slight scratches that the disks have received over time (well, they are about 40 years old and have been played quite a lot), but the removal of the grime and grease has revived the brightness of the original recording massively. You may need to spend a bit of time cleaning and re-cleaning, but using a velevet brush is a more gentle approach than rubbing hard with a cleaning cloth so the time spent is safer in the long run for precious vinyl. If I were to digitise these albums and run them through a software 'crackle remover' then I reckon these would sound pretty much as good as new (but I'm saving that for a future task for now). The cleaning brush is well made, the case slips on firmly and the enclosed stylus cleaning brush does the job too (just be careful with this as you would with anything you're touching your stylus with).

Great for its intended use
Just to be clear this is a HARD velvet block, not a brush - having said that it does come with a very small brush, but this is for cleaning your play-head/stylus.Although this is a hard vinyl block is does have a velvet coat around it so it is useful for both cleaning dust off the surface of the reducing anti-static buildup on the vinyl record. It seems to have some sort of anti-static agent applied? Not too sure about this but did not seem to leave any static, or even attach static to the vinyls I used it with (which is all of the four I currently have in my collection - yes I am new to this), but it does the job and is fairly inexpensive (although a standard anti-static brush can be a lot more affordable and be found in your local store, but they are generally for a completely different purpose).
