Plastic seat adapter but it actually worked well. It didnt fit my kimber but I made it work with another adapter mixed together. The only thing, I wish these sellers selling these adapter would take a few pictures of them. Show the side, type of sight cut, bomar, novak, mil stardard, maybe put a measuring device near by too wouldnt hurt. Show the top, bottom sides, everything it is hard to guess what you are getting when you only see the top side of something that attaches from the bottom.

The Vortex MT5100 sight mount does not fit the Vortex Viper 6moa sight
Did not work for me. I have read that others have purchased this light mount and it worked well for them. I own a Colt Combat Elite 1911, Series 80. Others report this sight mount worked on their 1911's but what they got it for was a Vortex Razor Red Dot sight. I bought a Vortex Viper Red Dot sight with 6moa dot from OpticsPlanet.com. I want to try a big red dot sight on my favorite pistol. No where could I find what sight mount fit my sight by name but everyone was recommending the MT5100 I am commenting on. They said it should fit my sight. IT DOES NOT WORK WITH THE VIPER. I have looked everywhere, wrote emails and made calls but cannot hook up with anyone in a meaningful way that can satisfy my question. What bloody sight mount fits a Vortex Viper Red Dot sight? I finally found out by rooting into a Q&A article for tech help at OpticsPlanet.com and they recommended a sight mount by EGW. I ordered one for $45 and hope to all that is holy that it works. EGW Product ID : 49310 (part #). Your 1911 must have a Novak cut that the OEM sight fits into. After I get the sight mount I will update the review with the results. It's reporting to take up to 3 weeks for delivery. OpticsPlanet.com sells the sight but does not recommend what sight mount kit to buy. hmm. Hey OpticsPlanet.com, that would be a good video to produce for YouTube.

i wish i had read more into it. it does not fit my 1911. Also the sight mount is really flimsy. doesn't seem like it would hold up long.
