Multifunctional! The cut out holes let's u check values and the markings let u set ur pic size!And the product fits in my bag easily. It's very firm plastic so it won't break, and you also get a printed sheet with hints and tips on how to use. I certainly found it helpful.It's a mid tone grey colour, so makes it easier to pick ur values.

This is an invaluable help when you are starting off learning how to paint. What's great is that there are markings on either side, so you can adjust the scaled down window to suit the size of canvas you are working on.Simple, effective, portable little tool.

Nice little gadget. I haven't used it yet but it is well designed and compact so easy to take with you when painting or drawing outdoors. You can create any format with it and I also like the hole that allows you to isolate a colour if need be.

For me a really useful little tool. If you think you would like it, you will. If you think what do I need that for, you won't.Works for me.

At first I had my doubts as the gadget is really small, but actually it proved invaluable in getting the right perspective for my paintings. I work from photos a lot as I'm not yet brave enough to work en plein air ,and the camera often skews perspective. With the view catcher I can just do a quick sketch onto a watercolour pad at the location, take a photo and finish the artwork at home. It helps me to produce faithful representations of the scenes. The little hole in the centre is also really useful for getting the tonal values right.

Great to be able to frame up different aspect ratios. By getting used to the distance at which you hold the viewcatcher, you can also determine which focal lengths will work best. A very useful tool.

I was surprised at how useful this product is. It's great as a viewfinder and it is also a good mid-tone grey. The product seems really well-made. Would recommend.
