Yes. This product cleans inside and outside of carb.

Q: Can this be used on egr valves on deisel engines.

i used this product on my 1.9 cdti Vauxhall egr valve left it to soak did the job

Q: I've been told this can strip paint without damaging the metal beneath. Is this true?

The can probably contains 1,1,1-Trichloroethane which most paints will be resistant to, I would be very worried about spraying it onto a plastic material for fear of it dissolving the plastic.

Yes it can, however I used mine to clean the carburettor on a petrol strimmer but stripped the carb down to clean it and the reassembled it. Just MAKE SURE you wear neoprene gloves and DO THIS OUTSIDE as it's toxic and flammable.
